The Mansions in Newport were fantastic, but the best part was the cliff walk and the harbor, all the big boats. We had to ... ask for towels on both Thursday and Friday nights after we arrived back at the hotel late and our room was never made up on Friday. The morning breakfast was short staffed and food and coffee ran out.

We went to newport for my b-day weekend. The room was very clean and spacious. We did not use the pool so cannot comment on ... it. The breakfast in the a.m. was very good! What I diden't like is that you can hear everything in the rooms next door and beneath you...toilet flushing, sneezing, hacking etc.

The hotel was right down the road from the center of Newport. We were provided with a list of common places people like to ... visit along with driving directions for each destination. The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful and always smiling. The price couldn't have been better since we went during the in-season and most places were almost $200 a night. We only paid $103. There is plenty of parking in town so a short drive isn't a big deal for a better price. The room was extremely clean and although there are smoking areas in the building, where we were (in the non-smoking section), we couldn't smell any smoke at all. The room included a microwave, mini fridge, and dvd player. Not to mention, the bed was very comfortable to sleep in as well. In the morning the hotel provided us with a free breakfast with a great variety of choices (cereal, dannon yogurt, eggs, bagels, muffins, juice, toast, fruit etc). They only minor complaint I have is that the pool, which was indoors, was a bit small and was 4ft deep at its deepest point. The hot-tub made up for it though, which was pretty spacious. I highly recommend this hotel to couples, families, business traveler, and friends out for a relaxing trip. You would never guess the price was so reasonable!

The hotel was nice, clean and close to attractions like the Cliff Walk. There was a free breakfast buffet which included ... eggs, bacon, bagels, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. There was a decent fitness center. Just steps away was a Chili's Restaurant and a Catholic church also just a quick walk.

This was our first time visiting this Holiday Inn Express hotel. The room was comfortable and clean - and the shower was the ... best hotel shower I've had the pleasure of using in a dozen+ stays over the past few years. :-) The hotel is quite close to downtown Newport- just over a 5-minute drive. Within walking distance from a Dunkin Donuts. If $$ not an issue, forgo the hotel breakfast (mostly fake food anyway) and go to the Blue Plate Diner a short drive (1 minute?) down the street (towards Newport). My husband said the pancakes were the best he's had on this coast! Downers: people who allow their children to run through the halls like wild animals, screaming and yelling -- with no regard to other guests who may be sleeping -- and a management that fails to enforce some behavioral limits. It would also be nice if the hotel had select times for ADULT ONLY use of the pool. (FYI, we are active adults in our mid-50's.) I cannot imagine why small children are using it after 9 PM. THIS is why I would try to time my visit next time for a weekday evening - rather than a Friday night.
