Great room, good price and great staff

Normally we travel in our RV, but we needed to take a quick trip and after researching locations - picked this one. Could not ... have been more pleased with the cleanliness of the room, the attentive staff, great breakfast bar, and good location only a couple blocks from beach. Would be glad to recommend to any of my family or friends.

I recommend a short drive northwest toward the bridge to eat at Dewey Destin's Harborside Restaurant( on the left right before you reach the bridge). They have the best Crab Cakes on the coast!

this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The service was great, the room was large with room to spare. And the ... location was great. We were short walking distance from everything, the beach, the restarants, and shoping!

Just down the street is a new shopping mall with a Belks, Bass Pro, and a movie theatre. Great for some afternoon shopping after a day at the beach.

We were very pleased with the hotel .... the location was excellent, the entire staff was very pleasant and accomodating, and ... there was a good continental breakfast. The hotel could use some new carpeting. The walls were being painted, so it looked like they were doing some updating. However, we would definitely stay again.

We did feel most of the ratings for the motel were exellent. We loved the comforter and the fluffy pillows. The breakfast ... was a FULL Breakfast Bar with either bacon, eggs, biscuits, etc, or sausage, omlets, etc. and great cinnamon rolls. The rooms were mostly quite and comfortable.And [...] at the desk was ALWAYS smiling and friendly although we met many unfriendly people in Destin. So it was nice to see a friendly person to after experiencing the rudness of others when we went out shopping. We only wished it was on the beach, but it was a great value for the money.

Clean, with some exceptions

All in all the experience was a good one. Upon arrival and having to kill time for the check in time (4:00) I went ahead and ... took a chance that we could check in 15 minutes early just to unload. As I am there at the counter they allow a gentlemen walking in off the street to check in and go straight to his room, me on the other hand who has prepaid and booked a room was asked to wait until 4:00! Not a happy camper. Floor in closet area was soaked, told the front desk three times about this, and to my knowledge nobody ever checked it. The hotel was very clean, and in a great location. Requested smoking, but upon arriving they had to put us in a non smoking room with no compensation for the switch.

Relaxed Spring Break

Stayed at the hotel for a week. The room was comfortable and clean. There were two stains on the carpet though. The breakfast ... was great except they didn't have the cinnamon rolls the first few days that they are known for having. Staff was always helpful when we needed new towels after our many trips to the beach, and would put out cookies in the afternoon. It was a great place to stay for spring break, not perfect, but once the cinnamon rolls were served it was pretty good. The only improvements would be to make sure to have the breakfast stocked as described, having the pool heated, and an earlier check in time.

Very family friendly

The Holiday Inn Express and Suites{Destin} was very comfortable with a good size room. We usually have a hard time sleeping ... while staying in motels, but that was not the case here. Their beds and pillows were very comfortable. This is the first time my wife has had a good nights sleep in a motel. The location was very good. It was a short drive to restaurants, shopping, and Henderson State Park where my family and I attended a wedding. We definitely will plan another vacation to Destin and will stay at this motel.
