Good hotel near midway

Overall it was a pleasant experience. The hotel staff were friendly and the room was clean. Since it is close to the ... airport you could hear the planes flying over but otherwise than that the stay itself was good.

I was amazed that the hotel was quiet, even though it is about 2 blocks from Midway Airport! The staff were quite competent ... and friendly, and the complimentary breakfast provided a decent array of food and drinks!

hotel staff was great about telling us about parking and even gave us a guide to nearby restaurants. Downtown Chicago is absolutely beautiful at night!

This hotel was perfect because it is extremely close to Midway airport. My family and I went to a White Sox game on Thursday ... night, which the stadium is a fairly short drive away as well, and then had plenty of places to go to and kill time before my flight left on Friday. The front desk personel where great and very helpful!

Great location next to Midway

Chicago's southeast side is not exactly the greatest neighborhood; but if you need to be near Midway airport for that early ... morning flight, this location is perfect; only a couple of minutes away on the main road. So close in fact that I was worried that jet noise might disturb my sleep; but that didn't happen. Rooms new and clean, and staff courteous and responsive. Wish they'd had an in-hotel market, though, for forgotten toiletries and so on. They advertise wireless Internet access, but I found the transmission quality on the 2nd floor to so variable as to make it essentially unusable. A couple of Internet terminals are available in the business center near the lobby, though.

It was fine, but I wouldn't stay there again. There are quite a few other, nicer, newer hotels on the same property that ... would have been a more comfortable stay. Not that it really mattered, but the tv was old, the sheets were rigid, and the bed was hard. It was fairly clean and the shuttle service was reliable. The front desk staff wasn't rude, but they weren't overly friendly.

I've stayed at very nice hotels, all booked online through a discount site. This 1 was a bit average for the price but I ... think that's because of the area. I had a great time riding around, eating downtown and even had my 1st horse & carriage ride. I loved it!!!

Hotel was fine, room door lock didn't work properly and the staff was very non-committal about fixing it. Parking fees were ... added to the bill without an explanation. Room was clean and bed was nice. It's a good place to sleep, but not a place to stay for a vacation.

The folks at the check-in desk were so friendly and helpful. We felt like we were welcome and at home right off the bat! ... The location was great. We were in town for a play and were able to catch the free shuttle to Midway to use the mass transit system which made getting around very easy. The shuttle drivers both ways were friendly and didn't drive like Las Vegas cab drivers which was really nice....:) We didn't have long to wait for the shuttle on either end of the line...hotel or Midway which was also great. Our room was a typical hotel room...roomy enough for 4 gals which was very nice. We didn't feel squished at all. It was clean and we had plenty of pillows and towels for all of us. We enjoyed the Continental breakfast very much. We were up and well fed, and ready to shop our way back to Wisconsin!

Holiday Inn Express Chicago Midway is a great location. They have a 24 hour on call shuttle that takes you back to Midway ... where you can catch a train into the city. We went EVERYWHERE we wanted to go by train and walking. (I guess you have to be able to walk). Hotel itself was fine, not the nicest I've stayed in by it was fine since I was paying for it. I'd stay there again. That complex has other hotels plus a TGI Fridays. I'd definately go back to that area.
