Pretty Bad. Especially for the price.
Annoyed Fellow Sep 1, 2009
If you're in Boston, you'll be tight-up for "reasonably" priced accommodations. This was one of the cheapest at ($125 a ... night, plus $30 a night parking) and there is a reason. Although it is clean enough and actually physically nice (if small) it has so much noise on the street. There are tons of bars around and it was so loud on Sunday and Monday that my room was actually shaking. I thought there was a concert next door. Also, the staff were jerks. I actually had hotel staff close the elevator on me as I approached. Like they looked me in the eye and closed it. Ridiculous. Go somewhere else unless you like rude behavior and music until 2 in the morning.

Please Fix the Air Conditioning!
Janice Jul 31, 2009
Although the rooms were nice and clean, it would have been nice if the air conditioning was working on a hot July night! The ... room had a window fan in the room which made it bearable, but I had a feeling this was an ongoing problem. The hotel is located on a very dark and somewhat "sketchy" street. Parking is available about 3 blocks away in a parking garage.

Convenient to the new "Garden"
Green Day Rocker Jul 21, 2009
Deskclerk [...] was very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable of the area. We were in Boston for an event at the TD ... Northbank Center (new "Garden") which is located across from the hotel. This made for a less stressful visit because we didn't have to battle traffic and find our way around Boston. My major complaints are the lack of proper air ventilation/inefficient air conditioning system; breakfast ends at 9:30 am, too early for someone visiting. All staff were very friendly, helpful, courteous and respectful. Kudos on the dedication of the staff! It was noisy; however, the hotel is not responsible for the City of Boston continually digging up the city's streets. It is the nature of the beast.

If you choose to park, walk, and stay in Boston for an event at the new "Garden", make sure you eat a good meal while the local restaurants are open (there is a decient selection). Otherwise, you will have to hire a cab to take you where dining is available after 1 am.

Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market were a few blocks away walking. We also walked to the Aquarium and to the Farmer's Market by the Harbor. We went into the restaurants close to the hotel and they were reasonable with good food.

Conveniently located but low on service
Bucky Jun 22, 2009
The lack of service at the hotel was somewhat problematic. I became quite ill on my trip and needed to go to an emergency ... room or urgent care clinic. The front desk staff members were of no help, and in fact, were quite rude.

A little hot
Kris May 26, 2009
We went for my sister's bachelorette party. It was in a great location, walking distance to Fanuel Hall. The hotel staff was ... great, they mentioned that the AC didn't work, we thought it would be fine with the windows open but it was still really hot, part of our group canceled their room. Everything would have been fine if the AC worked. The rooms were updated and clean. We needed more towels but the cleaning staff wasn't in so we had to wait until they got in to get towels.

Right across from Garden... great spot!
Angejeeper May 4, 2009
Hard to find, but great location since we were going to a Bruins Game at the Garden. There was no flag out front.. just a ... banner up on the building that we almost drove right by. It was clean inside though and the room was surprisingly very spacious with a nice bathroom. It was a bit noisy as we were right above a couple of bar/restaurants. Parking is a little tricky... we had to make sure the hotel discount rate was applied for our '24 hours' for our hotel stay and then prorated for additional time that we were parked. They were trying to charge us for an addt'l 24 hours in the Gov't Ctr Garage.

A very odd stay and experience
Dissed-in-Boston May 3, 2009
I came in all excited about my 2-day trip to Boston, and this hotel was at odds with all my previous traveling experience, ... beginning with the warning they gave me at check-in that the air conditioning was broken for the whole building and that I had 2 choices: 1) stay and they are working to have it repaired by morning OR 2) stay at another local hotel nearby Not familiar with the area and it being late and crowded at the start of a Celtics game in the neighborhood, I opted to stay, especially since the lady at front desk gave me the impression that it was not that hot (if I open the window-- also they upgraded me to a suite) and that they will promptly get the AC running in the morning. I was pleased with their attempt to make me feel at home. But after a hot night of tossing and turning till morning 10am, I could note bare it and wanted to check out that hour (a day early) expecting to get charged for 1 night and possibly receiving an apology. They charged me for both nights with no hesitation or class and told me that I went through a 3rd party (Orbitz/CheapTickets) and that they had no obligation to refund anything. In addition, they did not acknowledge or consider the circumstances with their broken AC and told me that they gave me a choice and I chose to stay. One would think that in the hospitality world, they would want you to stay and even return to their hotel. But the front desk and manager took advantage of my full 2-day reservation without even apologizing about the situation. It was like suffering at their hotel for 1 night then getting slapped for deciding to stay after they warned me, really odd! FYI, I've stayed at countless hotels in developing countries around the world and can't recall a similar experience, never would have imagined this happening in the US. Final words: Find another reputable hotel, even if it means paying more for it. Also be sure to call them directly to ensure everything is in working order.

Great for Sports Fans
Boston Apr 23, 2009
We were there for the Boston marathon. The hotel was very nice and the staff friendly but it was too noisy! We got very ... little sleep. There were too many Irish Pubs around it and it got very very noisy when the game got out. the noise went on until about 2am. An hour later the trash trucks came around! I got the impression we were given one of the noisier rooms as we had booked through a third party. The were very few rooms overlooking the main street.
