A great place to stay!

What a great hotel! My family and I met up with 3 groups of our families and they put us all in rooms close together even ... though none of us booked together. The rooms were clean and very new and the staff went out of their way to help us. Close to restaurants and other activities. Breakfast bar was great! The bed was so comfortable my husband and I peeled back the linen to see what kind of mattress it was so we could buy one for ourselves.

The location is perfect for us -- near daughter, shopping, restaurants, and it has a shuttle service across the street to ... take us to the ball games. Love the afternoon cookies. Breakfast is good, nothing special. Rooms large and clean. The desk clerks were outstanding.

Newport is very close. The riverboat dining cruises are also there, along with aquarium, shopping, theaters, and the Purple People Bridge for taking walks. Location of the hotel is away from heavy traffic, but close to interstate and main roads.

Newport Aquarium, Great American Ballpark

There was a restaurant just behind the mall at the levee that had "newports best burger" or something to that effect on it's awning. This is pretty much a lie, or the area has really bad burgers. We were not impressed. However, for a really nice breakfast, try Cafe De Paris on Garfield drive in Cincinnati. Kind of tucked away but a nice low-key hole in the wall sort of place. We were lucky to just kind of stumble upon it.

GREAT experience
Jim Aug 28, 2009
We were in town for 3 Reds games and we wanted a fairly close hotel, a certain other, cheaper hotel seemed appealing for the ... location but the reviews on that were pretty disheartening, and after actually seeing it in person it quite honestly looked like a dump. We decided to splurge for the Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue and I'm really glad we did. The hotel was spotless, the service was top-notch, always friendly and helpful, not to mention the room was HUGE. If you're in town for the Reds or Bengals, there is a shuttle (more like a city bus, not a hotel-operated shuttle..I want to clarify that.) that runs to both locations. However it goes to a lot of different locations and we weren't feeling very patient so we just did $10 parking all 3 games. The nearby Newport Aquarium is DEFINITELY worth checking out if you have time, no matter what age you are. I wish we could've spent more time there. We weren't at the hotel all that much, but when we were it was a very pleasant experience. The continental breakfast was great too, actual food..including biscuits and gravy. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone, you won't be let down.

Overall we had a great stay. Check in was easiest as all I had to do was tell them my name and I was in. I had a king suite ... and it was great. the room was a good size and there were plenty of perks in the room. The location is also good, it is close to the levee but also set far back enough that there is not too much noise. On this trip we went to the Cincinnati zoo, king's island, and a concert at the riverbend (coney island) and all the places were easily accessible from our hotel location (within a 45 minute trip.)My only complaint is that they charged extra for a smoke-free room which seemed a bit backwards to me.

Great experience, new hotel in prime location. Close to Newport on the Levee and just over the river from Cincinnati. ...

Mecklenburg Gardens, the oldest restaurant in the city of Cincinnati. Fantastic traditional German food, wonderful service and great selection of beer and wine. I recommend sitting at the bar to chat it up with the locals or hanging out in the beer garden outside which is covered in grape leaves.

Hard to Find, but Clean, Quiet
Traveling with Munchkins May 8, 2009
Hotel is hard to find, behind a Frisch's with no street signage. But within 5 minutes of the Aquarium and other Newport ... activities, so very convenient. Our room was clean, quiet. It was supposed to be a non-smoking floor, but every time we got off the elevator (3rd floor) there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Employee break room? We don't know, but they should really fix that. Otherwise, recommended, a bit pricey, but not too bad for proximity to attractions.

Aquarium, Riverfront Center, within 5 minutes going up the street and to the west. Go down the street (south) for 2 blocks and there's a McDonalds, grocery store, etc.

One of the Best

I must say that the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites BELLEVUE-NEWPORT ON THE LEVEE was one of the best hotels that I've ... ever stayed in! The location is great! It was very clean! I have never met nicer hotel staff and I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

There is a Frisch's Big Boy right beside the hotel, and fast food restaurants within walking distance as well as places to shop, and Newport on the Levee is EXTREMELY close!

Fair Price, Excellent Rooms
Francesca May 26, 2008
For the Newport area, this was a fair price for a room. This Holiday Inn Express is very new, and the rooms are very nice, ... modern decorating, very clean, great breakfast. Convenient location (although hard to find -- find the Frisch's Big Boy, and they are behind that on the small access road, just down the street from the Party Store). Note to Holiday Inn -- get a sign out on the main roads!
