First trip to Chicago for my daughters birthday to American Girl Doll. This location is very close to the store. However, ... the front desk staff needs some work. We checked in at 2:30, and were told our room would be ready at 3:00. We left our bags and went to visit the stores. When we arrived back at 5pm, our room had been given away, and we were given a different room with one King size bed. We needed a room with two double bed. When I inquired about the mistake the woman at the front desk was very unsympathetic, and replied "there was no mistake made". Only after speaking to the manager, was I told we could have the type of room we originally booked, but we had to wait until 9:30pm to check into the correct room. This was a HUGE inconvenience considering I was traveling with younger children, who were very tired! The hotel manager was very apologetic and made every attempt to make it right... but the best that could be done was waiting until 9:30 for our room. I will not be staying here again.

This hotel was perfect for my husband and I. It felt very luxurious to be staying in a suite in the middle of downtown ... Chicago, and the rooms were incredibly nice. Plus, the location truly couldn't be beat. We were literally right around the corner from the Magnificent Mile, and right next-door to the John Hancock Building. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, especially the concierge. The only thing that would have made this hotel better would be free Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast. I'll definitely be staying in this hotel the next time I go to Chicago.

Buy a bus pass that allows you to ride the CTA an unlimited number of times in one day for $5.75. You can pick it up right on Michigan Ave, and the concierge can help you find the routes you need. It's definitely worth it if you're going to be headed all over town, since a one-time bus fare is $2.25.

Sharon - The Puppysitter Jun 16, 2009
Great planning made this trip a success over all. Location close to Michigan Avenue was beneficial for us to catch public ... transportation. Ate two meals in on-site restaurant (I felt my 2nd dinner was better). Concierge and front desk staff helpful. Visited museums, saw outdoor art, went to a Broadway show. Amenities that determined why I chose this hotel: fridge/microwave; suite; non-smoking option.

Buy a Go Chicago card; hotel was handy to a Gray Line tour stop and those tours could get you close to most tourist attractions for which the card also includes admission. Remember to look closely through the benefits listed; we missed out on some we could have used.

C.A.I May 11, 2009
This was my first trip to Chicago, so everything was new to me. Luckily, I was at a place that made my first stay very ... welcoming. First, the lobby area is very classy without being intimidating. All of the rooms are suites, which made it feel spacious and homey, as well as modern. The fitness center/pool area is on the top floor and has an amazing overview of the city and Lake Michigan. The fitness center is very well-equipped which can be hard to find in a hotel setting. The overall environment actually made working out fun! The staff was very friendly and quite helpful. They went above and beyond to answer all my questions and help make recommendations. The hotel is in a prime location as well. It's in walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping you could need. Overall, an excellent experience!
