I STAYED THERE WITH A COLLEAGUE WHILE ATTENDING A PROFESSIONAL MEETING AT ANOTHER HOTEL IN THE AREA. WE SAVED ABOUT $80 PER ... NIGHT AND HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE THAN WE WOULD HAVE HAD IN THE OTHER HOTEL. THE RESTAURANT PROVIDED EXCELLENT FOOD AND THE BAR WAS FRIENDLY FOR AFTER HOURS TALKING. ON MY LAST DAY I WAS ABLE TO ARRANGE A LATE CHECK-OUT AT NO EXTRA COST, THE CONCIERGE ARRANGED FOR A CAB IN ORDER FOR ME TO DO SOME SHOPPING AND THE STAFF GAVE ME A LEAD ON A GOOD BOOKSTORE. I WOULD STAY AT THE DOWNTOWN HILTON ST. LOUIS AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT! THE BOUTIQUE ATMOSPHERE WAS PERFECT. QUIET & FRIENDLY.

The Gateway Arch is very close and the Cardinals' Ballpark is an easy walk. I wouldn't bother with the Ballpark Hilton. This hotel is pleasant, affordable and provides easy access to everything you need in a Big City visit.

Hilton Downtown - JUST OKAY
Jessica Aug 24, 2009
There really was nothing that special about it. The staff was nice, but not very helpful. The parking price of $18/night ... was a little pricey. The location was pretty good to walk to the Arch, but not a good location for restaurants, shopping, or anything else. We had to walk really far just to find a place for dinner. The staff wasn't very helpful when we asked for recommendations for places to eat, either. In the morning, we found a bug in the bed and the staff didn't really seem to care much. We had the breakfast buffet and the waiter charged my credit card an incorrect amount. He added an extra $13 to his tip apparently.

Great hotel...Not 4 star service
Dad on the go Aug 18, 2009
Had a late check in... Wanted a cocktail before I turned in for the night. The bar was advertised to be open until 11:00PM. ... I got to the bar at 10:30 and it had closed. I guess the bartender controls the hours not the manager... what did the Hotel save, maybe $5.00 on an hourly wage? This place has all of the makings for a 4 or 5 star hotel, but... I've traveled the world. When you stay at a real 4-star hotel, the hours are solid... no matter how many customers are in the joint. Additionally, It doesn't matter if the staff cares about thier job or not... they should try and at least fake it that they actually "care"...

The hotel was in a great location for us, walking distance to the Arch and riverboats. Easy access to the Metro, Union ... station and other downtown activites. However, I don't feel that the room was cleaned very well. The sheets, towls, and bathroom were clean. But, the carpet didn't look as if it had been vacuumed (noticable debris), shirt tags left froma previous travler, shirt pen under the desk, etc.

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND
Aaron Aug 5, 2009
It was a great experience staying at the Hilton Downtown STL. The location could not have been better. We were within ... walking distance of the ArchGrounds where we spent most of the day for the Concerts and Fireworks. At night, even more convenient to be able to walk to the Lumiere Casino and Laclede's Landing where there was always something going on to grab your attention. The staff at the Hotel were very helpful and everything was very secure due to the fact that everywhere u went including just to use the elevator and parking garage requires a KeyCard. Overall, it was a great weekend and we will definitely be staying at the Hilton in Downtown STL again!

Wonderful location to attractions

My husband and I were wanting to celebrate our first anniversary in St.Louis. We were going to catch a ballgame, wanted to be ... close to the Arch, as well as the Laclede's Landing Bars, and the new casino. We couldn't have chosen a better hotel to put us right in the middle of it all. We were able to take a short walk, a couple of blocks, to each of the above. There is a parking garage right next door, which charges $18 a day for parking, but you do have unlimited access twenty four hours a day. We ventured out further into town several times as well over the weekend, and it was nice to know that we'd be able to park right next to our hotel again. Every staff member was exceptionally friendly from the front desk, bar, and guest services as well as our breakfast dining. We only did the breakfast buffet our first morning, we weren't very impressed. It was $15 per person, and consisted of your main breakfast items :french toast, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal/oatmeal, and a small fruit selection. The also had someone to make omlets and waffles to order which was included in the $15 charge. The food was good, however there are lots of breakfast rest. within just a few miles of the hotel and we will choose to eat elsewhere next time. We weren't thrilled for the almost $35 we paid. Overall the hotel was very clean, rooms were very comfortable, and we intend to stay again when we're in St.Louis.

Right now there is road construction in almost every direction. It made getting from one place to the next difficult. Not only are the main interstates closed, there are side roads that are closed as well. We have a GPS, but it wasn't compatible with the construction. Be sure to allow extra time for analyzing your directions.

Hilton St Louis Downtown
Abi Jul 6, 2009
The Hilton St Louis Downtown was in an excellent location to walk to all major downtown St Louis attractions, the Arch, ... Laclede Landing, Bush Stadium, etc. The service was friendly and efficient. The rooms were quiet and the curtains heavy (necessary for a downtown urban location). The only drawback is parking is expensive downtown, so if you are driving figure in extra for that expense.

The room was a bit small but well laid out with nice furniture. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We did have a ... horrible view of a brick wall that was only a few feet away. It looked as though most rooms had that view. The bathroom was lovely as was the staff. It was in a great location, able to walk to the arch, busch stadium, and to casinos. I just think that you should be warned of the view, I would have prefered actually seeing the city, staring at a wall is not a good vacation experience, and you dont feel as involved in the city.
