It was a good anniversary getaway. We watched Harry Potter at the Megaplex and ate at the Olive Garden. So many things were ... close by. We didn't have to get the car out the whole time. The hotel was very high class, clean, and friendly. Things I would do different is provide more free inclusions during stay. Basically the pool and fitness room were the only things that didn't cost extra. I think they should at least provide free breakfast.

First of all as soon as I walked into my room I was blasted with the smell of cigarettes. For the most part things were ... enjoyable. Customer service representative was rude when asked about the shuttle back to the airport. And I did think that the room was over priced.

AAA Four Diamond??? Not a chance.
JET Mar 4, 2009
We asked for a king room when the reservation was made, we received 2 twin beds. We went back down to front desk to see if ... maybe we were given the wrong room type by accident. The lady at the front desk told us that we got exactly what we asked for. Despite the copy of the reservation confirmation that I had with me that clearly stated otherwise. She claimed that they don't see room types on the reservations in their system so there was nothing that she could do. It was very clear that she wasn't going to help in any way. Not wanting to let it ruin our night, we returned back up to room. I went into the restroom to get a drink of water and noticed a very large clump of hair clinging to the shower wall, it was accompanied by the soap and shampoo that had been used by the previous occupants of the room. Again, I returned back down stairs and asked to be moved, I was told the hotel was full and nothing could be done. I asked to see a manager, after waiting almost 20 minutes, no one ever came to talk with me. The air conditioner didn't work either, it was so hot neither of us slept more than half the night. Checking out the next morning was no better, 2 guests were arguing about how to split the bill, several employee's of the hotel were standing at the bell desk having a great time talking while the check out line grew longer and longer and longer. After it got about 8 couples deep, someone finally decided to grace us with their presence and opened another line. We couldn't have gotten out of this property fast enough.

Excellent location & very nice hotel
Donn Dec 15, 2007
The Hilton Salt Lake City Center was a nice hotel with prompt, helpful & friendly staff. The two double-bed room was clean ... (as was the entire hotel) and spacious. The bathroom was also clean with an appropriate shower head (no harsh water-saver unit). The hotel's parking was conveniently underground and the hotel is centrally located with many retaurants close by. I would stay again.

The Hilton Salt Lake was a nice modern facility. Room was nice, staff very nice. Food service was barely satisfactory. ... Evening dining was limited to a very expensive Old Men's Club type restaurant. Breakfast was expensive and the hours for the cafe were limited. Best thing is that it's close to the Salt Palace Convention Center.
