Good hotel to end a trip

Would recommend to a friend!

We took the shuttle and was dropped off at the Metro since in center they were expecting a protest. We were in downtown and ... did not see any problem. It would have been nice to have a frequent morning shuttle to the terminal, but we were able to walk so this was not an extreme problem. Overall we were happy with our overnight stay.

Beautiful money trap

We chose this hotel to eliminate any last minute problems before catching our flight home. After 30 days in Italy, I was ... looking forward to a nice relaxing bath after a month of showers. The plug in the tub was not operable. When we asked the check in person for information about the air terminal, her suggestion was to pay for the shuttle because it was a long walk. The buffet dinner at the hotel was 38 Euros per person(WOW!!). My feeling is that the hotel is a great facility that cashes in big for its location at the airport.

We checked out how to get to our terminal the day before our flight. This made it very easy on the day of the flight to get ... to where we needed to be. The moving walkways are great and the ease of getting a luggage cart right at the hotel was great. We also found the room to be really wonderful. It was expensive but worth it considering the ease of getting to the airport.

We checked into the hotel the night before our departure to the US. It is comfortable with plenty of hot water for a good ... shower. We didn't need any service, but check in and out was most pleasant. Not up to a top Hilton Hotel here in the U.S. But in every way perfectly comfortable. The best part was to be able to take a leisurely walk to the airport the next morning and not have worry about shuttle service, trafic, etc.

Wonderful end to my trip

I booked a room at the Hilton to take advantage of the covered walkway from the Hilton to the airport. Not only was the ... Hilton's location a convenience, but the hotel itself was luxurious. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Being within walking distance of the airport minimized the anxiety of getting there on time the next morning, and the comfort of the room at the end of a long day's drive made the Hilton worth it.

Nice airport hotel

We stayed here for the last night of a 12 day stay in Rome. Our flight was at 10AM and we didn't want to have to rush around ... early in the morning and deal with Rome's crowds and traffic. It was an excellent choice for our purpose. The only negative I have, is that it is a long walk to the international terminal and several of the moving sidewalks were not working. But the exercise was good for us.

This hotel has the best location if you have an early flight(ours was at 6:00am) and lots of luggage a very short walk to the ... airport and they provide free cart. One thing we loved about it was the complimentary shuttle to and from the center of Rome it saved us a lot of money. We booked an executive room so we had access to their private lounge room, which they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks all kinds of drinks free of charge. It has a nice indoor pool which we could not use since we had no time.

Not what it should be

Leisure Traveler Jul 17, 2009

Convenient but overpriced location for next-day flights. Efficient check in w/ friendly clerk. Public areas fine, but room ... needed basic upkeep and better housekeeping. One bedside light inoperative, other had damaged lampshade. Mold, mildew, and a bit of hair in tub. Only one Kleenex left in box... go figure. Hardwood floors relay sound of any object dropped in adjacent room, but sound-proofing from airport noise is excellent. Next trip we'll stay in much more affordably in Rome, then catch an early train. Or try the Airport Marriott, which (even w/ ¬6/pp shuttle) would have been cheaper.

Suz Jul 14, 2009

The ONLY reason to stay here is to be conveniently located to catch a flight. Which made the 20 hours of travel home so much ... easier. Service was IMPATIENT. (Maybe they get a lot of cranky travelers, and the attitude has become contagious.) It's clean, has a limited and expensive menu and not much to offer if you are not going into the city. It was a convenient, expensive box. There's not much TV in English, other than CNN and Sports. Bored? Rent a movie On Demand for 15 Euros... The simple meal we had in their cafe cost more than any other meal we had in several days in gourmet restaurants all over Italy. When you drop off your rental car, there are signs that lead you straight to the Hilton. They have a monopoly and take advantage of it.

They don't PROMISE a shuttle to the terminal. IF airline crews haven't taken up all the shuttles, they will transport other clients. You might have to wait 20 minutes for the shuttle, but start out in time to do that if you are lugging heavy bags. The airport is big, crowded and hectic. We gave ourselves 3 hours, ate when we got there (because the hotel food prices were ridiculous), shopped at Duty Free and had just enough time to board. We took a shuttle, went through a couple of Security stops, took a light train to the terminal and then a bus to the gate. The experience would have been tense if we had stayed anywhere else and allowed less time at the airport.

Bad hotel

I don't have a nickname Jul 8, 2009

We stayed there because we could walk to the airport. Hotel was sterile and every sevice was for an extra fee. There was ... not even a free cup of coffee. We ended up not having any breakfast or coffee. They told us we would have to walk to the airport and take an airport shuttle to our terminal. Finally, one nice desk clerk offered a courtesy shuttle. Food was overpriced. We paid the most for this of all our hotels and liked it the least. The Hiltons must be rich because they overcharge their guests. Two of the elevators weren't working and the exit stair doors were locked. DANGEROUS.

Free shuttle bus to the city

Time savers hint, Long Walk

Long walkway connects hotel to Flumicino Airport (Leonardo DiVinci). Very convenient provided you are not moving lots of luggage.

Time savers hint, In Hotel

Departures from Terminal 5 require a (free) airport shuttle ride. Catch the shuttle in front of any of the terminals that are reached via moving sidewalk from the Hotel. Allow 20 minutes.

--Leisure Traveler, Austin TX Jul 17, 2009

Time savers hint

Time savers hint, Long Walk

Look for the covered passageway with a cart if you have several pieces of luggage; it was an easy stroll...the signage is a little confusing.

--Sicilian Vacation, El Paso, TX Jul 5, 2009

Dining hint, Short Walk

The hotel is close to the airport. You can take a luggage cart all the way to the front of the hotel and if you are flying out there are carts available right outside the front door.

Dining hint

New huge shopping mall with food court and outdoor restaurants one stop via airport train connection. Parco Leonardo offers alternative to pricey hotel restaurant or airport offerings. Take local train from airport terminal.

--Tom, Wellington ,Nevada May 24, 2009

Time savers hint, Short Walk

The proximity to the airport makes it hassle free. The free shuttle makes up for the distance from Rome and it operates from 8am until 10pm every 2 hours.

Dining hint, In Hotel

Very average food but good for a late night meal. Have a proper meal in Rome before you return to the hotel.

--bjh, Santa Monica, CA May 8, 2009

Dining hint, Short Walk

Walk over to the airport for meals to save some serious Euro - Hilton meal prices are outrageous!

--Juniper, Bend, OR May 2, 2009

Lots of things to do with pool and fitness center.
