Great Location!

We stayed on a Saturday night for the Kings of Leon concert at the Bradley Center on September 27. The hotel is very nice ... (although they are doing a complete renovation to make it even more modern) and in a great location - close to restaurants, the Bradley Center, the Cellular Arena, and great night life. The rooms were large and very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milwaukee and would stay there again in a second.

This hotel is located in a great location downtown Milwaukee. The staff is helpful, the rooms are really nice and we had a ... great view of the lake. Unfortunately, we were there ona very busy weekend so I would recommend calling ahead before booking to find out if there's anything going on at the hotel if you'd rather have a quiet weekend.

Old time elegance
irish girl Sep 14, 2009
This hotel is beautifully appointed. It's located right downtown. We chose a downtown location, though we were in town to ... visit family a few miles north, thinking there would be much to see and do. The downtown location was a little disappointment, as we weren't planning to attend a show or concert, and weren't interested in drinking, steak or seafood. Healthy food options weren't available, and there was little to do except walk along the river. We had a good time, but that wasn't due to the downtown area itself. If we were to stay in Milwaukee again, we would look for another area.

Worst Experience with a hotel
Angry in Milwaukee Aug 19, 2009
I got to the hotel later on in the evening, I had requested a late check in. I got there only to be told they over booked and ... gave my room away. It was late, I didn't appreciate this at all, I just wanted to get to my room. We ended up getting transferred out of this hotel and to one that was 20 minutes away. We specifically chose this hotel because of the distance to the Irish fest. We had to pay for a taxi. The only good part is they gave us the hotel for free(the one we transferred to). It didn't make the costs cheaper because of the cost of taxi and other expenses. This overbooking and relocating really soured our trip.

They SOLD my hotel room. I booked a month in advance, got to the hotel at 2pm was told room wouldnt be ready until 4pm. Came ... back after a night out in Milwaukee at 1am and was told my room was sold to another guest. No refund was given only a room in Oak Creek (20 minutes south of Milwaukee). Dont stay at the HILTON, they are very unfriendly and are only worried about themselves. I have been on the phone all morning with both Orbitz and Hilton to no avail. This is total BS that they wont give me my money back. Not sure who else I can contact to get my money back.

slv Aug 4, 2009
We went to take a weekend off bar hopping downtown Milwaukee. The location was great for us in the middle of about ... everything. We had pretty good luck finding parking. It was extremely convenient to be in the Hilton's parking garage, which was like $24 a day but well worth the money. Our room had a view of the AC & rooftop, but the room was comfortable. The room was small but quiet, beds were comfortable.

Very nice room
loves to travel Jul 29, 2009
The room was very nice. we got a corner room so we had lots of windows. The location is good, you can catch the bus to take ... you around the city but is not in walking distance of some of the main attractions. We wished we had a mini fridge to store snacks and drinks, but that was not available. The concierge was helpful. We were disappointed with the sound-proofness of the walls; we were awakened several times by late night partiers which was annoying since we had to wake up very early to catch our flight.

The public bus is a great asset to getting to the main attractions and is a block away to one of the stops. It is very expensive to park a car in the city and most places are metered parking during business hours so you need lots of change. Just don't bring a car and take the bus everywhere... Also they have tons of free events during the summer. The fish fry and a flick was so fun and was free (aside from the cost of the food if you want it).

Loved Milwaukee. Staff were wonderful. Got awaken by someone trying the door between the rooms. Was frightened, but ... security came -a lady- and she reassured me, no one could get in, so went back to sleep. This happened 2 nights in a row. Maybe signs could be put up so people wouldn't do that? It may have been a child thinking it was fun , and a sign would have gotten the parents to stop them.? At least, that's what I hoped happened.

Service awesome, extras costly
fit of whimsy gal Jul 15, 2009
The service was outstanding, rooms were large and very clean in an old-world Milwaukee-style hotel. The Hilton was located ... within walking distance of the river walk, good food, shopping and public museum. The woman serving my room, [...], was especially great in bringing me cold-packs on a migraine-day. There were a few disappointments, however, that I wish I had been prepared for. First, the pool/waterpark was not included with the room fee; I was visiting with a friend and my younger sister who has Down Syndrome, we had been looking forward to having fun for an hour or two in the evening in the waterpark but were surprised by the extra $50/day charge for which we had not budgeted and decided to pass on. The website and [...] info listed a "pool" was an amenity of this hotel and had been one of my criterions. Secondly, there were very limited number of Cable Channels; we are Tour-de-France fans and were unable to watch in the evenings, also had very few choices to watch on our rest-in-the-hotel evening without going to Pay-per-view. Overall, this was one of the best hotels I've been in, but it did not totally meet my expectations.

Will not stay again
Laura E Jul 13, 2009
This is the second time we've stayed at the Hilton City Center, and on both occasions we were in town for a Brewer game. And ... on BOTH occasions we got to the hotel later after the game (around 9 or 10pm), to find out that our reserved room was no longer available. Last year we were pleasantly given an upgrade, however this year we were given a small, one double bed room (when we had reserved 2 double beds). This was not acceptable, so they DID find a 2 Double bed room availabe in the smoking section, which we begrudgingly took. I'm especially peeved because I had called early that morning to notify them that we would be checking in late after the game, and yet our reserved room was STILL given up. I will never stay here again, simply due to this fact that I cannot rely on showing up and having a room. I think that is horrible service.

I loved this hotel. We stayed there twice now within a 2 week period. We are avid concert goers and this hotel is at a close ... distance to The Rave and Summerfest grounds. Staff was awesome, even the cleaning ladies! Only had one little problem with the ATM there but is really not connected to The Hilton. One of the conciare (spelled wrong) was a bit rude but other than that we will probably make this our hotel of choice now when we go to Milwaukee. Thanks for a great stay!
