You couldn't ask for a better location. Blocks away from River Street, around the corner from City Market, a short walk to ... excellent restaurants and a terrific night life scene....just perfect! The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, service is great; there are only good things to say about the Hilton Garden Inn Historic District.

Savannah is a wonderful city. The hotel was on River Street which is just across the street from the Savannah River and the ... River Walk which has a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. We basically parked the car at the hotel and walked everywhere!

Room was $40 cheaper than the place across the street. We had a room with a balcony viewing the river and Bay Street here. Was very nice.

Check out the Moon River Brewing Company. Great food, and if you enjoy beer, they have a variety to choose from, made right there at their microbrewery. Just down the street from the hotel.

The location was great the parking not so great. the room was very nice and comfortable. need to have current movies to watch ... on tv for free. the price was good compared to other hotels in the area. the breakfast buffet was to expensive for breakfast. should have a free continental breakfast for free. mornings you need something light and not overwhelming.

This new hotel is located within a block of River street on one side, and within a block of City Market on the other. The ... staff was always courteous and efficient. My room was very quiet, even though it was next to the elevator shaft. Very good value for the money.

The hotel was very close to River Street, which made walking everywhere very easy. The room was small, but that's to be ... expected considering location. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we really liked the fact that we heard little interior noise. It always ruins a trip for us when we can hear the people next door, above us, etc., but this time we could hear the muffled partiers outside the hotel but no noise inside. The only drawback here is that you are forced to do valet parking if you want to leave your vehicle at the hotel. Valet parking is $17.50 a night, which adds up very quickly when you consider that you also tip your valet.

Everyone we met was very friendly. The price was less than a lesser room across the street and we were given valet service ... for free. We will stay here again on our next trip to Savannah.

Lack of Customer Service. Front desk has no sympathy if something has gone wrong. A friend of mine charged the room to her ... card but put my name on the room so I could check in first. If you give them a debit card they withdraw $50 a night from your account for incidentals. However, they agreed to only take $20 from my account. My friend checked out before me and paid the balance for the $17.50 a night valet and 50 cent per local call fees, which the total came up to $62.89. A few hours later I returned my key and made sure my money would be put returned to my account, upon that everything isnt broken in the room. However, the front desk agent informed me that the balance had not been paid but her balance did not match the balnce my friend paid. So I knew something was wrong on their end. After waiting for some kind of confirmation, the front desk agent was communicating back and forth with my friend who faxed her the official copy of the recipt that said everything was paid. The front desk agent took her precious time faxing back the form that needed to be signed in order to reimburrse me, but after 12 o'clock, check out time, my card was charged the complete balance of $52.50. Its been 10 days and I still havent recieved anything. I've called every day and all I get is attitude. Overall, the pool, valet, housekeeping is great but management should hire new front desk employees who care about their guest's problems, especially when they screwed up.

Great Anniversary Get Away

This was our 30 year anniversary celebration. Was looking for a place that we could park the vehicle and walk to many ... attractions, restaurants, etc... This hotel was located where this was all possible. Savannah also provided us with the many attractions we were looking for as well as the history and beauty we were looking for. Don't miss the TyBee Island Light House, it was a nice little half day trip as well.

The room was adequate, not really what I expected from a Hilton but probably in line with its price range. It was clean, ... reasonably comfortable, but not anything above average in amenities. We didn't spend much time in the room so it wasn't a major concern. It is on the edge of the historic district and just a short walk to Lady and Son's (Paula Deen's) restaurant as well as one street away from the river walk. Market Square is just outside the back door. Basically worth the money but the hotel will not be the highlight of the trip.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful visit to Savannah and our accommodations were great and conveniently located. We were ... able to walk to most places we wanted to visit, including the Lady & Sons restaurant. The staff was fantastic, very accommodating at all times.
