The location is really good. You can walk to many attractions in a short time. The staff was also very helpful and kind. But ... the rooms are really small, which is normal for such a place in NYC. Having free internet in the rooms was also a plus.

New York! New York!
Rick Henderson Sep 20, 2009
This was our first trip to New York. We travelled there with family, from Baltimore, by train. Had some terrific meals ... while there, such a selection of good restaurants to choose from. Went to see the show 'Jersey Boys' which I can thoroughly recommend. All in all, a fantastic experience.

This was my first trip to NYC and I didn't know quite what to expect. The hotel was in a prime location. We were 1 block ... from the big Macy's and within walking distance of sooo much, including the MOMA and the Circle Line Island Cruise, for which I had bought vouchers on-line. We were able to walk to the NYC Library, the United Nations bldg., Central Park, Little Italy, China Town and bought a Metro Card for everything else. The room was very clean ( they even wash the duvets between guests!), quiet, and the staff was very friendly.

Great stay in the heart of the action
artytraveler Aug 2, 2009
We stayed for two nights to do general NYC tourist activities, and attend West Side Story and a concert at Lincoln Center. ... The subway is literally steps from the hotel (orange line). The rooms were spotless and a good size, particularly for NYC. The beds were new and really comfortable, and the room had new appliances and a flat-screen TV. Our room was right next to the elevator, but we never heard it, nor did we hear street noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Make sure you find out about weekend subway schedule changes now that the schedule is cut back (we waited for a while for a D train that doesn't run on weekends).

Best hotel choice we've ever made in NYC
Willy Jul 30, 2009
This was a very nice hotel at a very reaonable price, a hard thing to find in NYC. The location near Harold's Square was ... ideal. This hotel is new, only open since February, 2009, and was very clean. We chose the "city view" and ended up on the top floor (31) with a spectacular view. The staff was friendly, the free wi-fi and business center was nice and the elevators were fast. We'll go back.

Great weekend getaway
J and L, American Travelers Jul 16, 2009
This hotel has a great location, just off Harold Square near Macy's in midtown. We had a room with a king bed reserved, but ... at checkin, they were out of those rooms and gave us an upgrade to a "city view" room, even though it was with two doubles. It was a very nice room. The staff was excellent and very attentive to our requests. The only complaint was that the shower had one of those newer one-piece glass doors and it leaked like crazy. it took the bathmat and two towels to keep from walking in water in the bathroom. A small price to pay for a great value.

Go to Times Square and check out the broadway show tickets. Or just hang out at Harold Square and watch the people.

Take the subway everywhere. We used the MTA to get from the airport, even. It only took about 45 min to get from Laguardia to the hotel. Cabs are not worth it! If you get a Metro Card, you get free transfers between the bus and trains within a two hour period. And MTA goes everywhere!
--VadersBlade, Chicago, IL Jun 7, 2009
Up the block to Catwalk is a nice club to hang out the bar at he hotel closes too early. Across the street from the hotel is a bar/grill named Brendan's that stays open late. Great place to end the night.
