Visited the "Big Easy" on business and extended my stay through the weekend. Great hotel value and just a short cab ride ... away from French Quarter!

For a few nights it was a great value. They were doing some renovating which made it a bit noisy at times. Good location. ... Within 10 minutes walking distance of the French Quarter and a few blocks from the river walk. It was nice to be outside of the madness of the quarter. New Orleans restaurants (the good ones anyway) get full very fast and require extensive waits (0.5-2 hour waits). Make reservations in advance.

Great alternative to expensive FQ Hotels
NOLA Fan Nov 12, 2009
This was a great alternative to an expensive French Quarter hotel. The room was more than ample and at an exceptional rate. ... We alternated between taking cabs to the Quarter/other destinations and walking, which only took about 20 minutes. Saturday morning the restaurant was understaffed for breakfast, but other than that no complaints.

Great location for the convention center but a good walk to the French quarter and Superdome. The rooms were clean and ... comfortable and the staff was friendly. The only complaint is that parking is $28 a night so we parked at a city garage across the street for $20.

Henry Nov 1, 2009
This hotel is very near the Convention Center, but a 20 minute walk or short cab ride to the French Quarter, but since I was ... in New Orleans for a work conference, it was very convenient for me. The price just $64 led me to think it would be a dive, but it was spectactularly new, clean, and comfortable. I must have just lucked out on a good week when they were looking hard for business.

Hilton garden Inn NOLA Convention Center
Joan Aug 25, 2009
A great location and staff. Hotel is undergoing renovations, and is looking great. Perfect location to be just outside the ... hussle of French Quarter-yet close enough. Staff we so nice. We arrived early after a long flight and fully loaded down w/ back to college gear. We were permitted to check in early which was a gift. We will be back to The Hilton Garden Inn for our next visit to Tulane University-the 2nd of many more for our college freshman.

Odd location
JazzFest Neo May 5, 2009
The hotel seems to have a policy of not immediately clearing reserved or non-expended credit card charges to cover any ... incidentals upon check out. I had to call back after reconciling expenses for the trip to find out that the reserved charge would be on my card up to seven (7) days AFTER I checked out of the hotel and had dealt with all expenses. The ACTUAL charges for incidentals were also billed on top of the reserved funds. ACTUAL charges were far less than the reserved amount.

Overall Good Experience
Molly Sep 28, 2008
This hotel was great for my business trip to New Orleans. It is in a good location to take a taxi to the attracitons of New ... Orleans. The room was very clean and comfortable and I found the staff very helpful. Parking is expensive, but that is true of pretty much everywhere, I think. I found the dining to be lacking, however. I suppose not many people choose to stay in the hotel to eat, as the food is famous in New Orleans. But, as a lone business traveler who needed an early breakfast (which was pricey) and was tired and just wanted to eat in at the end of the day, I wished that they would have had better options in the hotel. I do recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Excellent choice for business.
Alison Sep 27, 2008
My stay at this hotel was truly excellent. The staff were polite, friendly and eager to help. The hotel was well maintained ... and spotlessly clean. The room was large and comfortable. Always a perk to have internet access, an in room fridge and microwave at no additional cost. My only gripe was being charged $3 per day for the in room safe (Hilton, take note, this is not cool). I liked the quiet location. I was attending a business conference and not only was this hotel two blocks walk from the conference center, but I had better customer service than my colleagues who stayed at other hotels.

The Hilton Garden Inn Convention Center was a wonderful surprise. Friendly, helpful staff. Very nice hotel and had the most ... comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Great value and a wonderfully kept hotel. It's a little off the beaten bath, but walking distance to many places. We will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone planning a trip to New Orleans.
