Nice hotel, bad service

Diana Nov 16, 2009

For such an expensive hotel you would think that it would not cost as much as it does to park in their parking garage. For ... $15 I got tiny parking spaces and then had to pay for parking at Disneyland. There are cheaper hotels that are closer to the entrance and have free parking. The only good thing about the hotel, is that the beds were comfortable.

We went for a walk the first evening when we were there to eat and found a great restaurant. We both had steak that was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

Time savers hint, In Hotel

Take the bus to Disney. I normally don't like public transportation and am willing to pay for premium parking or a taxi. In this case, the bus if very fast. It stops in the front of the hotel and drives directly to a well laid out bus-only area in the park at the front gate. There is no faster way of getting to the park. Even if you pay to stay at the park's hotels, you will spend more time walking to the gate than you will with this bus.

Nice hotel

David - Freq business&pleasure traveler Oct 27, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We (2 adults) were visiting Disneyland for this trip. The room was very nice. The pictures of the room on the website were ... accurate. New furniture, larger good quality LCD TV, clean carpet, new bathroom. The view of the Disneyland fireworks was unobstructed on my floor (14) and lower floors. The 12 elevators were fast. Parking was indoor and connected to the hotel. It was $15/day, which is unfortunate but typical in this area. The bus to Disney was clean & convenient. Every 20 mins- early morning or late at night. The bus is direct to the park so it doesn't travel around the city picking people up. No car needed. Walking distance to many restaurants. Restaurant in the hotel was nice and reasonably priced except for the typically overpriced $14 hotel breakfast. Atrium was large, clean, new and modern. Lots of comfy seats. Staff were friendly. Pool was good sized and there were 2 large hot tubs. However, the pool doesn't get much sun because the hotel surrounds it and creates a large shadow (this was in late oct- summer may be different). Starbucks in the hotel was convenient. Downsides- Thin walls and connecting doors to other rooms made noise an issue. I would recommend the hotel have designated "quiet area/floor" where kids are not allowed and noise is discouraged. $6 for a small bottle of water is never appreciated. The top floor can hear the noise from the roof (elevator, other machinery). For me it became background noise but it might bother some. This hotel was a good value and well suited for business and pleasure travelers.

Worst hotel experience ever.

Jet Sep 6, 2009

This was the worst hotel stay ever. First of all, our hotel was filthy. There were rather large mystery stains on our sheets ... and pillows both nights. We also found some curly hair on our unused wash rag. The second day we found yellow stains on another unused wash clothe. We also go bites from bug beds. If the dirtiness doesn't stop you from coming here, I was awaken the first morning at around 9am by a stranger trying to get into my room. That same morning, the housekeeper walked in on me when I was coming out of the shower. Good thing i had the deadbolt on the second time. When I voiced my complaints to the staff at the front desk, she tried to make it seem like it was my fault for not requesting no maid service, and gave me attitude. Don't stay here.

I was having proplems with a vending near my room! A staff member from the desk went up and help me fix the problem right ... away! Durring the heat of the summer seasion at Disneyland, This was a nice place to stay. Parking was always avalable, though it should be noted that easy wakling access to Disney Parks is now limited to Disney Hotels. You will have to rely on shuttle service from the outside the park, to get to the Disney Parks - Thanks Disney, for poor civic planning, or good marketing depending how you feel!

This hotel has nice mall-like Fast food places for you and the kids! I also has a nice Starbucks at the lobby. There is a nice new shopping area (Anahiem Garden Walk) a block away that has Dining and a movie theater, but be prepared to pay for parking - the city of Anahiem has a hold on all the parking ouside the Disney Parks - including this hotel!

Hilton Review

PE Aug 24, 2009

Was not worth the amount of money paid for it. Arrived and was sent to the wrong room, which had people still in it, and we ... had to go back down to check-in which took another 30 minutes. Internet was not free and for not being free it was not worth the amount they charged. Parking was 60 dollars which is absolutely ridiculous for what we paid for the hotel (it should be free). I will not be staying at another Hilton and will recommend against it in the future.

This is the second time that I have stayed here and it remains an excellent facility and location for access to all theme ... parks. There is a choice of a shuttle to the parks or it is well within comfortable walking distance. There are several eating alternatives very close by if you chose to eat away from the hotel or the theme parks. The gym and spa facilities were outstanding and the pool was located on the fifth floor which provided privacy for bathing.

DISNEYLAND FAMILY VACA TRIP

Masterkons Jul 31, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

This trip was a family (2 adults 1 infant and 1 toddler)Disneyland vacation 3 days/2 night stay. When we arrived , we were ... informed that Valet parking was $19/day, not inluding tip. The self parking was $15/day. We chose the valet because we didnt want to walk pretty far to pick up our vehicle because we were planning on going out later. The service was incredible. The only thing that could have improved was the bell hop service. Upon arrival, our luggage were quickly placed into the cart. We were told that our luggage would be brought up to our room up checking in. After we checked in and walked to our room, we waited for 15 mins for our luggages. After a call to the service/bell hop, they told us that they'll be sending someone to our room w/ our luggage. 15 mins later, I called back and they told me another 10 mins. The fact is that we had an infant in need of a diaper change. There were not that many people checking in so that service could be improved. Everything else about the room was superb. The bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. We got a disney view/fireworks which we did not even use. It was not really worth the extra ten bucks. We weren't there to see the fireworks, which comes on everynight at 9:20PM. We needed a crib for our infant and they quickly brought one. Check out was also easy.

Dining hint, Short Walk

We went for a walk the first evening when we were there to eat and found a great restaurant. We both had steak that was excellent and the price was very reasonable.

Time savers hint, In Hotel

Take the bus to Disney. I normally don't like public transportation and am willing to pay for premium parking or a taxi. In this case, the bus if very fast. It stops in the front of the hotel and drives directly to a well laid out bus-only area in the park at the front gate. There is no faster way of getting to the park. Even if you pay to stay at the park's hotels, you will spend more time walking to the gate than you will with this bus.

Dining hint, In Hotel

This hotel has nice mall-like Fast food places for you and the kids! I also has a nice Starbucks at the lobby. There is a nice new shopping area (Anahiem Garden Walk) a block away that has Dining and a movie theater, but be prepared to pay for parking - the city of Anahiem has a hold on all the parking ouside the Disney Parks - including this hotel!

Be prepared to walk to good restaurants and attractions. If you do not mind the bus I recommend using them. For the price, this is a good hotel.

Time savers hint

Please check with the hotel first to ensure that there are no conventions during the time of your stay. This will save you a lot of heartache. If not; be prepared for a lot of noise and limited elevator use!

We rented a car for a few days and drove down to San Diego Zoo one day and went to L.A. to Universal Studios on another day. Those brochure display racks have coupons for reduced entry tickets to attractions. Grab some and save money!
