Best location in downtown Prescott
BeerMan Nov 18, 2009
I had booked a queen bed room online, but when I arrived, no queen rooms were available due to an error by the hotel staff ... when entering the reservation. I received a two-double-bed room instead, which was all that was left in the hotel that night. I received a complimentary drink ticket for use in the hotel dining room for the inconvenience... oh, boy! The room was fine, otherwise.

Relaxed hotel in the heart of Prescott
Mark Oct 26, 2009
The hotel was built in the mid-20's, so don't expect big rooms and tons of amenities. The service is very good and the ... Peacock Room (onsite restaurant) is first rate. I was very happy to use their high-speed, free wi-fi, both in my room and in their lobby. Elevator needs to be operated by a staff member, which might be a hassle for some. PC with internet and a printer is easily accessible, for guests. Big lobby, free coffee, and a nice patio was good to find. The location cannot be beat, right in downtown Prescott, just up the way from their famous Whiskey Row. They've got a small bar, on-site, which features live music by a small jazz combo. Bed was nice and firm, like I like it. Hot water came fast, when I turned on the taps. Room was very clean. No sign of the ghost that is said to inhabit the hotel. Over the weekend, the place was fully-booked, but my room, in the middle of the hallway, remained quiet. Parking is across the street, which is a little inconvenient, but it's free parking. I was a little dismayed to find, even thought I was staying for 4 nights, I was given no discount for any meals (the only discount offered wouldn't work for a single traveler and was restricted against meals purchased over weekends). I'll check the rates at the Hassayampa Inn, the next time I'm planning a trip to Prescott.

A Very Merry Christmas
Gail Dec 26, 2008
The historic Hassyampa Hotel in Prescott, AZ was a great place to spend our Christmas. when we first checked in, we found ... our room to be quite disappointing. It was too small for two people, their luggage, and Christmas gifts. Wanting to play cards with another couple, we asked the staff if they could set up a card table for us in the lobby. They immediately, and graciously, gound an appropriately sized table, which we, and others, used for the duration of our stay. While the Peacock Room is the only dining venue, the food is consistently above average, and the service was top rate. Being close to downtown Prescott meant we could walk to many of the excellent restaurants and interesting shops that are found in Prescott.

Charming Hotel
Kathleen Aug 28, 2008
The Hassayampa Inn is an historic hotel in the downtown area of Prescott. Location and all the common areas are super -- ... lots of period details. Restaurant was excellent. Tablecloths and first-class personal service made the dining experience very special. The hotel room was one of the smallest I've ever occupied. The bathroom was miniature also. But we spent little time in the room so it wasn't too important. The location is just one block from the Court House square where there are many festivals and demonstrations (we saw folk dancing) and another short walk to Whiskey Row -- a commercial area with many restaurants, galleries and boutique clothing shops. We enjoyed the visit.

Would not stay there again.
Michael Jul 27, 2008
The Hassayampa Inn was very historical and interesting, but the room was very cramped and the bathroom way too small. In ... fact, we waited until we got to our next destination to shower the next morning because the bathroom was too difficult to manipulate. You could hear other guests in their rooms and in the hallways, making it difficult to sleep. The staff was very friendly and the location was excellant for shopping and dining in the town of Prescott. The free breakfast in the Peacock dining room was excellant. All in all, it made for interesting memories, but we would not chose to stay there again.

The restaurant in the hotel was excellant for breakfast as well as the Rusty Spur Saloon down the block. We had a wonderful diner at a restaurant down the block called 129 1/2.

hotel somewhat run down
maryann Aug 1, 2007
Hassayampa Inn was in need of maintenance. Although it is considered a historic building the carpets could definitely be ... changed. Also, housekeeping did not replenish any towels, soaps, or shampoo for the second night that I stayed. I've stayed at better hotels for the amount I paid.

There are local cafes and coffee shops that really give the western flavor. I would definitely recommend Cafe Lone Spur on the same street of the hotel.

This hotel was located along the best areas Downtown Prescott has to offer. The shops, restaurants and bars were all ... wonderful with some of the best service I have experienced in years! This hotel had a wonderful restaurant and bar and was well-worth the room rate.

Look inside your key envelope when you check in! You get a free breakfast with your stay - and not the continental breakfast! A nice hot meal served by some of the friendliest waitresses I have ever been served by! Visit the old saloons down the streeet! You feel like you have stepped back into time.
