Pay a little more and stay on the strip
Male, 27 Nov 1, 2009
-The majority of the pool was closed. -Hot tub was cold -Major construction going on, constant noise. I was on the 7th floor ... over looking the pool, i was excited about that until 7am the next day when some one was hammering on the floor in the room on the 8th floor, i called Guest services who told me that they are deep cleaning the 8th floor and they aren't supposed to start till 8am.... The hammering did stop for an hour but there was enough noise still going on to keep me awake. - Shuttle service ended at 9pm, you then have to pay $10 for a taxi which is easier enough, but for the money i was paying for a taxi every night i could of stayed at another hotel, on the strip, without construction and with an open pool.

Hotel was off the beaten path and to difficult and expensive to go anywhere!!! No room in fridge for meds, too full of ... ordinary item at a 300%+ markup (ex: $2.49 water at CVS across street - $8.50 in hotel fridge) EVERYTHING ELSE WAS THE SAME..the shops, food, you name it. Hard Rock Cafe and Hotel have different owners and Cafe offers FREE shuttle to Strip, and hotel offers NOTHING. Thanks Hard Rock Cafe! Music was everywhere and was TOO LOUD (ALL THE TIME - Need to lower in the AM). NEVER AGAIN FOR THIS HOTEL!

I love staying in the Hard Rock. The atmosphere is fun and spunky, the rooms are awesome and modern, the beds are the most ... comfortable things in the world, and there is always a party going on at the pool. The only negatives are that the hotel is not located right on the strip and it is a smaller casino atmosphere if that is important to you.

The hotel was amazing! We were allowed to check-in early and the service was great. Casino was smaller compared to most, ... but was much more fun then other places. Pool was way above average and the rooms were very clean. Nightclub and food was also very good. Some people complain about the location, but dont be too scared. Cab from Palms to Hard Rock = $12. Cab from Hard Rock to airport = $8. Walking is also not very far to the strip, we did it everyday at least twice. I will be staing at this hotel again!

Room was very nice, fun atmosphere. Clean fairly smoke free environment especially for a casino. Would definitely stay there ... again. Make sure you have a credit card with $100 "security deposit" PER DAY that you are staying up front. I didn't know this ahead of time and it caused a bit of a problem since i had cash and they wont accept anything but a credit card for the deposit.

Love it. Perfect off-strip location, and still pretty intimate despite the expansion. I always try to stay at the Hard Rock ... when I go to Vegas, but it's usually really expensive on a weekend. [...] we were upgraded to a lovely pool view room on the 5th floor in the casino tower once we arrived to check in. Beautiful! Issues: The expensive ($14 per laptop) wi-fi could've been an issue if I didn't have internet on my cell phone. And gym should be included, not $20. Also, our sink and shower were both clogged upon arrival and weren't fixed while we were there despite our phone call. Not enough of a problem to keep me from coming back though, if the deal's good enough.

Hard Rock is Rockin'!
Jenny Oct 17, 2009
We loved the atmosphere at Hard Rock- it really has a great atmosphere and everyone there made us feel very welcome. When it ... came to the rooms, we weren't as impressed- we were in the north tower and had a window that opened onto the roof... where there was trash, cigarette butts, a syringe... this was a most unpleasant view! I would spend the little extra to get a room with a balcony! We loved the nightlife- we went to Wasted Space and Body English and had a great time at both. The pool is amazing as well- we loved it! One more small negative- use of the gym was not free- it was $20! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the services HR had to offer. The free shuttle was a great feature as well!

Girls- you have it made! We got free cover and so many free drinks. While the guys had to pay... find the guys with the clip boards (walking around the casinos/hotels) and get your names on the lists for the clubs. These people will take care of you (they gave us their cell numbers) for the duration of your stay- make sure you get in free and have a good time!

facilities were great and the rooms were very well designed and equipped. However, the indifferent staff made everything ... quite unpleasant. I did want somewhat of a more chill and relaxing pool experience during the day, but it was my bad judgment to expect that from the Hard Rock - music was blasting and people were getting obnoxious.

[...] The shower was broken and did not put out any hot water so we were forced to take cold bths... because the dial was ... broken it took 45 minutes to fill up the tub. Also, when we booked I called to ask if there is a shuttle to the strip and I was told yes, the shuttle goes to MGM. When we got on the shuttle we found out it only goes to Fashion show mall on the end of the strip. Needless to say we checked out and went somewhere else and I will never give Hard Rock another dime. PS..the $500 was supposed to be credited back withing 3 days , we have been home for 5 days and havent seen it yet.

I love this hotel! I will stay there whenever I go to Vegas. Although it is off the main strip, it's well worth the $10 cab ... ride to visit the casino. Hard Rock has a very young crowd, but since we are under 30 it fit us perfectly. While we stayed there we went to an Italian restaurant "Ago." I had a pasta dish that was so delicious that I called the restaurant owner to tell him about it. Shrimp pasta with home-made noodles. The pool is great too, if you are there during summer.

Checked in late Sunday night. They said though I prepaid, they had to swipe my mastercard, Then because it is linked to my ... checking account, they demanded 200 cash be pulled and returned on checkout. [...] I had a miagrane and had spent the day on the road. My account would not clear till 12:01 when my account deposits posted cleared. I begged, they let me stay, they put me in the new tower at for additional money.
