Very nice place to stay in San Juan
Rita Nov 8, 2009
That staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are really nice and clean. The staff was patient with people doing early ... check ins. Our luggage was stored until our room was ready. The outside pool grill and restaurant was under renovation which was a little disappointing. It would have been nice to eat by the pool. We feel it was a great place to stay and would not hesitate to stay if we get to San Juan again

Great location. Walgreens is just across the street (make sure shop before 5:00pm), less than 5 minutes to the airport (taxi ... costs $10 plus $1/bag). Bus stops are next/in front of the hotel. Short walking distance to the beach, restaurants, casino. Hotel is currently under renovation. The only Grill by the poolside is not available. Breakfast was great. They even served hot breakfast, yogurt, fresh fruits, cereals... The first night we were assigned a room next to the elevator and the ice making machine. The noise was unbearable. Through out the night it was like a construction drill was in its full force drilling above our heads when it was making ice. We weren't able to sleep the whole night. The next morning I requested to change the room. The Assitant Manager immediately gave us a room at 11:00 in the next morning and full refund of the first night. (She said the refund would take about 4 weeks through where I booked it from). She was helpful.

There are 2 buses the runs in the hotel area to Old San Juan: A5 and C53. A5 runs local (goes to some bad areas) and C53 is express. When the bus stops at the bus terminal, you can hop on any trolley for free where you have a nice "city tour".

well for starters, wen trying to relax in room during day time you can here the housekeepers talk and laugh real loud. we ... were not able to enjoy the pool cause it had elegy all around pool, looks like they did not brush down or vacumed pool. I'm a C.P.O. certified and saw symptoms of low chlorine and pH also alkalinity. other than that the stay was good. we would love to stay in this hotel again on our next vacation and hopefully we can see improvement so we can enjoy what we didn't on this stay.

We stayed overnight between flights in and out of San Juan. It's close to airport in a good section of town. We have stayed ... in this area before and like it. Their pool area was very pretty and serene. The breakfast included cheese omelets as well as delicious cinnamon rolls and poppy seed cake, cereals, fruits and ham. Good choices and very filling. Information about Hampton Inn San Juan
pinktraveller Sep 1, 2009
The San Juan Hampton Inn located in the Isla Verde district was very nice. It was nicely maintained, and it was very clean. ... The desk workers were very helpful. The location of the hotel wasn't the greatest, even though the hotel was pretty close to the ritz carlton. Many of the buildings around the hotel were run down, and there was grafitti on severeal of the buildings. I always felt completely safe inside the hotel, but I did not walk outside after dark.

I would definately go to the El Yunque rainforest. It's probably about a 40-45 minute drive from Isla Verde, and it's very worth it!

We had an excellent experience at this Hampton Inn and Suites. It was far superior than some of the five star hotels we have ... stayed in. Staff was very friendly and they accommodated to all our needs. Breakfast was great, we wish that we had more days in San Juan. We will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and most certainly will stay here when we return to San Juan.

The best nightclub is Club Lazer located in Old San Juan. It closes at 5 AM!!! The crowd is made up of young people only. You will enjoy this spot if you like to dance to reggaeton all night long. It is ladies night on Sundays. You should definately check it out then. Do not go if you are clusterphobic. It is very steamy in there =)

Local restaurant's are in walking distance or if not a very short drive away, including Lupi's, Denny's, Chili's, Church's, Subway, Taco bell, & etc. There's even a Walgreens across street. The beach is less then 10min walk right up the street. The bus to Old San Juan & other locations is angled across street and cost $0.75 but it can get crowded. In my opinion, taxi's are a rip-off. They charge you by zones & $1.00 per luggage for airport pick-up & drop-offs, which in my case the taxi driver included my purse as a luggage fee. Once your in Old San Juan, outside the bus station, the trolleys are free to ride & have many stops that circle up & through the streets & even take you to both of the forts. The ferry is right around the corner from bus station by the bay & ship docks and cost $0.50 which takes you to the other side where the Bacardi Distillery is. A bus near the ferry takes you to the outside gates of Bacardi so a $5 p.p. Taxi also by the ferry is more likely necessary to get you there. The tour at the Casa Bacardi is free & includes 2 free drinks per person. Oh & check out the rain forest, it's awesome. You can book a tour through the hotel.
