Use the parking on street (free on weekends) and across the street (reasonable daily rates) rather than pay for valet parking ($18/day). The area seems very safe for walking and parking.

4-day trip
Boja Sep 21, 2009
Hotel had the extra touches that make it classy: cookies and coffee in the lobby 24/7, extra pillows in the rooms, lap desks ... for writing and computing in bed, large flat screen TVs, etc. Very good continental breakfast, with a large breakfast room so there's never a hunt for a seat. Staff is very pleasant, helpful, and professional in all respects.

Convention Comfort
business traveler Aug 6, 2009
Great breakfast - either healty or traditional. Clean eating area, comfortable lobby, great snack shack to take to room. ... Only thing missing was room service, but the staff was great at directing yout to out of the way enjoyable restaurants. I was disappointed in the price assurance program, as the room went down quite a bit a night after booking - but as no one booked exactly the same room for the same nights - seems odd - there was not refund. With a 5 day stay - it was a big difference.

Many short walks to convention center, capital building, historic buildings, dining, and down town tours and 16th street walking mall.

Solid Value in a Prime Location
Stan Jul 21, 2009
Since we were in and out of our room a lot over 4 days, the staff provided a lot of helpful guidance in getting around ... Downtown Denver. The maid service was accommodating and very thorough, and the front desk personnel knew how to guide their guests. Valet parking is expensive, so we opted for on-street parking, which worked, but was less convenient. Last, but far from least, the rates we had for a first class room with a good complimentary breakfast in a downtown hotel were a real "Best Value" feature of this Hampton Inn.
Traveler type: Couples
The one mile long 16th Street Mall with no car or truck traffic is great; you should be able to find nearly anything there. The city provides free shuttle bus service on a continuous basis; you just walk up to a stop and within a minute or two you hop on and off anywhere along the loop.

Carl Jun 15, 2009
We definitely thought the hotel was a great value. The location was convenient to shopping and Coor's Field. Don't bother ... with the valet parking, park at the meters on the street and save yourself $20/day. Free wi-fi in your room. The staff was very nice and helpful, even moreso than other hotels I've stayed at that cost twice as much.

We had five guys and rented a suite. It was very spacious and easy to spread out. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was ... only okay. Great location: 5 minute walk from 'The Mall.' Valet Parking only was expensive, but the pay lot across the street was only $4 a day.

Don't valet for $18 per night with the hotel. Park in the pay lot across the street for $2-$4 per day.

I found this hotel excellent. Large, clean room. The staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed five days so saw several shift ... changes and they were all terrific. It's a great location - short walk to the 16th Ave Mall. Close to the car rentals and quick to the freeways out of town.

Very close to 16th Ave Mall where you can catch the free bus which runs the length of the mall. The Lo Do district is at the end of the run and has great restaurants and bars.

Travelnuts May 27, 2009
This hotel was as great bargain. The staff was one of the friendliest we've ever dealt with. The free breakfast was very ... good. The rooms were very clean and spacious and also included a fridge and microwave. The only knock I can give is that the hotel is not in the heart of LoDo, but the free shuttle for the pedestrian mall is only a few blocks away. We would absolutely stay here again. By the way, Denver is an awesome city.
