Great experience!!

The hotel staff were very helpful and amenities were just right. The room was comfortable and free wi-fi a real plus. The ... small fitness center was perfect and indoor pool relaxing. The good experience was only slightly lessened from the extensive construction still occurring across the street but at least they don't start working until 0630!!

Good price, bad location
Jason Sep 29, 2009
The hotel was inexpensive, which was nice in the Philly area. While the overall neighborhood is fine, the hotel itself is ... difficult to get to, and unless you knew it was there prior to your trip, you would not find it. The fitness center was smaller than my bedroom.

loved it!

pros: very nice staff, comfy beds, clean rooms, AC, indoor pool, hbo :), very quiet despite construction next door. free ... breakfast if you wake up early enough. great for couples cons: expect traffic if you're traveling after 5pm it's very busy right off the exit; some noise in the AM because of construction on surrounding streets but not so bad that it disturbed sleep; vending machines are only in main lobby and I was on the 9th floor.

Perfectly Acceptable, decent location
Paul & Matt Aug 9, 2009
The hotel was very nice, but the nearby construction on the Phila. Convention Center harmed the experiemce. Roads are blocled ... off and it is difficult to drive to the hotel. Parking lot was extremely small and the valet parking ended up leaving your car lost behind one or two others. Breakfast buffet not up to usual Hampton standards

The room was clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The location was central to everything. Staff was very ... friendly and the breakfast was good. The only problem we had was that our toilet broke at 10:00 at night and we were told that it couldn't be checked until the next morning. We had to use the lobby restroom.

Good Location, Okay price
Philly Tourist Jul 6, 2009
Generally, it was a good experience. It was strategically located so lots of sites were at a walking distance(Liberty Bell, ... Independence Hall, Franklin Institute, etc.). The price was okay, it included complimentary breakfast(which some hotels near-by did not) and the service was good. The only issues during our stay is that they changed the breakfast hours and didn't notify the guests. So one morning we had to go out for breakfast and Philadelphia is not a cheap city. We also had some difficulties in our room with noisy AC and a clogged toilet but the staff resolved these quickly once notified. Otherwise, everything good. :)

Great deal for the price
Cecil Jun 4, 2009
After a very lengthy search for the best deal in the area, this pick was perfect. I have no complaints other than a minor ac ... problem. However, a friendly maintenance man quickly responded to our call and remedied the problem. The location was great. It was just a short walk to China Town, Independence Center and a very short walk to the grand City Hall. I would recommend this place. Must mention the staff was very friendly and the rooms clean. Check in was easy and the place is only about 10-15 minutes from PHL int'l airport.

maddymappo May 26, 2009
I was there for my daughter's graduation from Temple Law school. The school was only 2 or 3 subway stops away. Everyone, ... without exception, on the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is old but very clean. The room did have a musty smell when I entered it, but a few seconds after turning on the AC it was swept away. Lots of pillows and very comfortable bed, I slept like a baby. Breakfast is extensive enough to find something you like and very big savings on a trip. Cable tv is on in the breakfast room. They also have a brown paper bag breakfast if you are on the run. They give yo little boxes of mints which is nice too. One night they had pop corn for everyone. Free newspaper available. Coffee and tea served all day and night. Nice to have a cup of tea when I returned after a long day. My room was quiet even though it was across the street from the new construction on the convention center. The location next to the convention center is not glamorous but it is convenient. Easy walk to China Town restaurants. Walking distance to the bus terminal ( which I took from and back to New York City). I did not try the pool or get to the business center, but they told me that they have computers to get on the internet, if you did not bring a lap top. They give guests internet access. Good experience.

Convenient Business Location
Occasional Biz Traveler May 8, 2009
I was in town for a symposium being held at another near-by hotel. The Hampton Inn was $60 less than the host hotel's ... "discounted" rate. My walk was less than 5 minutes and worth the savings. Excellent "walking distance" location for many of the important historical and cultural spots also. Things will improve when the Convention Center immediately across the street is completed.
