not so newly renovated

The website of the hotel said they had newly renovated the hotel-- with new "cloud nine" mattresses. However, we had a hard, ... firm, dip in the middle mattress. Our friends stayed at the same hotel and they had the new soft mattress. Additionally, the showerhead/pipe fell on me while I was taking a shower. Breakfast was your usual continental breakfast. Free wireless internet with provided access code, but you have to get the new code daily.

Second Time is a good sign

It is tough to check noisy as I did without a clarification. The noise issue has to do with train tracks that run by across ... the street, and a very active all night train route. The trains that pass, again, all night, hit their very loud horns as they go by due to the fact that this they are passing through town and many intersections. Other than that the hotel is fine. This is my second or third time there, so, the overall experience is quite good.

The power had been out since 7 A.M. due to a storm. It was restored about 3:30 PM, but there were several unhappy, hot ... customers in the lobby when I arrived. There was only one person behind the counter, [...]. This would have been normally sufficient, but since his computers had been down, and housekeeping had been unable to clean the rooms, [...] was unable to give the customers their rooms. The phone was ringing, it was hot, lines of customers in front of him. Yet [...] kept his cool and was very courteous, repeatedly appologizing to the customers and trying his best to smile. He is a true credit to the Hampton Inn.Secondly, the breakfast in the morning was very good. The staff member there was also very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was not elaborate, but it was fresh and served in a clean and professional way.

I was in Memphis for business and a local associate recommended it. It's a good mid price range hotel with very friendly, ... helpful staff. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. I spent 4 days there and was very satisfied. Am going back to Memphis again in May and will definitely stay there again.
