This hotel is in an excellent location. Blue and Red El stations right around the corner along with bus stops. Very easy ... walk(just couple of blocks) to Art Institute, Millenium Park. If you can't walk to a location then there is a bus or train to hop on within the block. The rooms were very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Very nice hot breakfast.

Amazing building, service, comfort - wow

Centrally located, the Hampton Inn Majestic has a terrific security feature -- the guest rooms cannot be reached without a ... keycard. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful...every one of them. The breakfast buffet outstrips many of the 'boutique' hotel offerings, and there's plenty of room to actually sit down and eat. The rooms are gorgeous, the windows large, the bathrooms immaculate. This is my new favorite hotel in the Loop area of Chicago. I can't say enough good things.

With incredibly convenient access to the Red Line train, and bus access as well, you'd be crazy to not get a CTA Fun Pass which can be a 1, 3, or 7 day pass to ride all transit (trains, the El, buses, but NOT Metra). They are sold at all CVS pharmacy locations - I got mine at the CVS on Jackson, which is just off State. It's a lot cheaper than paying for individual rides.

Excellent Value
FrankieDog Sep 6, 2009
We loved this place for a weekend trip to Chicago. The design of the room and hotel in general is clean and modern and rooms ... come with nice flat screen HDTVs and free wireless. The morning breakfast was a great value and the location of the hotel was convenient to all the attractions (Parks, Art Institute) and "El" trains. The fitness center was small but clean with new equipment. The only disappointment (and this is a very small disappointment) was that the room was very dark and kind of small. It wasn't a big deal, though, because we spent most of the time outside of the room exploring the city.

There was a putt-putt golf course a few blocks away in Grant Park. We had a blast enjoying the Chicago summer, sharing a pitcher of beer and playing 18 holes!

short stay Sep 5, 2009
Travelled with friends for a girls weekend away. Saved time accessing the free hot breakfast buffet. It was always ... replenished with fresh food. We arrived late at night and the check in and out process was speedy. All staff were helpful and efficient. Would definately stay again. Location was ideal. The business centre in the lobby had 2 computers and a printer for all to use complementary. Used it to print out maps for sightseeing.

Start your day with a great breakfast conveniently located in the lobby. We showered in shifts and ate in shifts to get to our destinations faster. Time was of the essence.

Everything went perfect. The breakfast is free and during all day you always can eat something (like cookies...). The best ... of the hotel is the location, you can reach everything walking! and when coming from the airport you just have to walk 50m from the metro!

great value for money, but not an "economy" type hotel - really nice clean rooms, friendly staff, premium bedding, good ... breakfast, secure, quiet, and generally awesome - I have had to pay much much more for far less that what you get at the Hampton - definitely recommend. No restaurant or fitness centre within the hotel, but you can access those things easily because of the location.

KatsLovinLife Aug 11, 2009
This hotel was in a great location on the loop. All the buses & trains that we needed had stops within 3 blocks of the ... hotel. We bombarded the front desk staff with questions about where to eat, what to do, how to get around, etc. and they were always extremely friendly, helpful and full of recommendations. The room was clean and setup well w/ a very comfy bed. The breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts. This was a great hotel and I would definitely stay at the Hampton Inn Majestic again.

A Weekend in Chi-town
K. Rock Jun 22, 2009
I came upon this hotel, based upon the reviews that it had. It DID NOT disappoint! The hotel staff was very friendly and ... helpful, directing us where to get some local pizza, how to take the train to Wrigley, etc. Facilities were clean. It is in a great downtown location. The hotel is within walking distance of Millenium and Grant Parks, The Art Institute of Chicago, Sears Tower, Navy Pier (a bit further, but a nice walk on a summer night) and many more. If you want a good Chicago-style pizza, the staff recommended Pizano's. We went there and it was tasty! Our friends, who live in Chicago, took us to a great breakfast-serving restaurant called "Yolk", on South Michigan Avenue. The wait was kind of long, but the food was definitely worth it!! Overall, our experience in Chicago and staying at the Hampton were definitely great. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I felt that I had spent my money wiesly!

We were in Chicago to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The Hampton Majestic was a great location as we were right ... next door to one theater and only five blocks away from the other. There were excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. The entire staff was very friendly. The room was quiet, clean and in excellent condition. I would stay there again, but might try to find another way to get there as parking was very expensive.
