For the price of this hotel you don't expect much. A Bed to sleep in, a bathroom...and that's all I expected. Hardly a high ... expectation. When I walked in I was surprised to also see that I also had a kitchenette but I wasn't going to use that. The bathroom has no tub and only a shower curtain seperates the shower from the rest of the bathroom. When you shower the water goes all over the bathroom floor and the water drain is in the center of the bathroom. There were a few holes in the bedsheets. I was fine with all this because it was only $60 for the night and I live in NY where $60 won't even buy you a parking space. So far my expectations were met. I booked this hotel because all the nicer ones in the area were completely booked. So I considered myself lucky when this place had plenty of vacancies. Though I came to south beach expecting to stay in a nicer place when they were all booked I thought Oh well- at least I get to save money. Well let me tell you THAT did NOT happen. When room service came to clean the room they threw away ALL of my papers including a three hundred dollar receipt of something that I had to return. Housekeeping also threw away a report I wrote which thankfuly I still had a copy of on my computer at home, a few one dollar bills (assuming they weren't stolen), the menus I had gotten from the lobby the night before AND my plane tickets!! The dollar bills weren't a big deal because it was only a few dollars and they were probably thrown away with the rest of the papers since they were in a pile, but the receipt and the plane tickets and report being taken upset me. What kind of housekeeper takes papers and throws them away? I've never had that happen to me before. When I realized she threw away my receipt I was so upset about the idea that I was NOT actually even saving money at this place but literally LOSING it. My first night there didn't cost me a mere $60 for the night, but actually over $360 because of the receipt that was thrown away along with other important papers. When I realize there's no way for me to get this receipt back I try to suck it up and go downstairs to reprint my plane tickets which were ALSO thrown away. You have to pay to use the internet there- so I spend the money. I log on, but they don't have a printer. UGH. I ask the front desk where I can print these tickets and the lady tells me I have to get in a cab and go to an internet cafe. I said I was absolutely NOT going to go into a cab and further have my trip ruined because some blind housekeeper decided to throw out pretty much everything I left behind in the room! She was nice enough to let me use the hotel office to reprint my plane tickets. It was slow so it took some time to log on but when I was finally able to press print...THE PRINTER WAS NOT WORKING. So I just figured I'll just have to leave a bit earlier and get my next flight's ticket at the airport. The lady obviously wants me to just leave the office because it's not printing so I try to check what time my flight is on the computer screen. It looks like 9:00. Then later that night as I'm coming home I try to go back to my room but suddenly the key won't let me in and I think it's just demagnatized and I ask for a new key. That one doesn't work either so a maintenance guy comes upstairs with me and he can't open the door either! So I go downstairs and sit in the lobby for 45 minutes while they figure out how to open the door to my room which still has all of my clothes in it. It would've been longer than 45 minutes if I didn't get angry and tell them they're just going to have to break down the door because it was almost 1:00AM and I had a flight in the morning. I'm usually understanding with things that can't be controlled by hotel staff, but the staff was joking around about the situation and laughing in spanish just hanging out downstairs! The one bad thing from vacation

Haddon Hall Hotel was located in a good location, walking distance from major attractions. first off, the hotel has little ... to no parking spaces available but they charge you $20 a day to park practically on the sidewalk. The hotel staff was indifferent with their reception services. the decor of the hotel and rooms were outdated with no theme. Surprisingly they have card access to the rooms. The room had enough space as a studio apartment with a small kitchen area and a lot of closet space. miniscule TV and poor air conditioning. Having a fridge in the room is an asset, and a stove too, but its a double edge sword, the room had a horrible smell like fried fish, that would not go away with glade candles nor fabreze. Take your cologne with you if planning on staying at Haddon Hall because your clothes will smell like you just got out of your shift at KFC (I think KFC smells a bit better though). the bed sheets were never changed and the towels although washed, always presented themselves with a few unexpected "hairs" -god knows where they came from... I sure will not be staying at Haddon Hall in the future.

Good food can be found in every direction. For breakfast I liked going one block down 15th toward the ocean on Ocean Drive and stopping at one of the little sidewalk hotel restaurants there. Lincoln Street is about 2 blocks down Collins and has tons of great lunch and dinner restaurants. And plenty of other eateries are within blocks.

Phil Oct 16, 2009
The hotel room is relatively small, but it is a 50's art deco hotel, so what would you expect. The room has a nice size ... refrig and small range, with dishes, so very helpful in cutting down expenses for food. Very nice pool. Great location being only 2 blocks from Lincon Center and on the edge of the art deco district. Beach is one block away. For an average of $95 a night, this is a steal for the area.

The furniture and the appliances maybe outdated, however you cant beat the location. The staff was friendly and the next time ... I go to Miami I would stay at the Haddon. Everything was located in walking distances. All the other hotels were charging extremely high prices and they were located on the same strip. Haddon is located in the center of everything and they will have a taxi services waiting on your departure.

Great Location but needs RENOVATION
Frank Oct 5, 2009
Our family went for a beach weekend and although the location is absolutely GREAT, the hotel itself is in dire need of ... renovations. The carpeting is threadbare, the bed covers have been mended so many times it looks more like a crazy quilt but all of this is bearable if the bathroom wasn't so neglected and disgustingly dirty. The floor tiles have caked in grime, the tub was indescribable. Old hotels have their charm but neglected ones miss the mark completely.

Good hotel for the price
I travel for MJ Sep 28, 2009
This was better than many more expensive hotels in South Beach, where funky seems to rule at the mid-low price range. My ... room was quite large and seemed clean and free of bugs. It had fridge and stove, cups and glasses, a table, coffee maker. Very nice to be able to bring my leftovers back to the room to eat later, plus keep cold drinks on hand. The elevator was fast, another luxury. The shower water was hot and plentiful and the hair dryer actually worked. It's not on the beach but it's close. My only complaints would be internet access which was way too expensive at $10 a day, and the fact that the air conditioner was somehow set so that it couldn't get any cooler than about 77 degrees. Coming in hot and sweaty, it's nice to be able to crank up the cool, but you can't do it here. But all in all, I was very pleased with the place for the money.

Dria Sep 22, 2009
I really enjoyed my stay at the Haddon Hall. I do plan on going back and I have nothing bad to say at all but maybe the staff ... could be friendlier but I guess they dont know english very well so that may have had something to do with the unfriendliness. Other than that, I loved the rooms because they have a kitchenette in them. The room is not updated or in a resort so of course it could use some work, but I wasnt there to be in the room. The pool was absolutely amazing. Biggest pool I have ever seen in an average hotel. Location is remarkable. We walked everywhere. The prices for clubs and restuarants are pretty steep but your in South Beach, dont expect to see too many cheap prices anywhere. I have no complaints and I will be back. Charged 50$ deposit but gave it right back at check out and called us a cab to airport. Orbitz was wonderful and I got a really good deal. If you are traveling on a budget, it doesnt get any better than this hotel. And the beach was Magnificent, only a hop and a skip away.

While the room was a little dated and could use more counter space in the bath room, overall, my stay was excellent. The ... hotel IS located in the middle of South Beach as stated in the hotel's description. There is a parking fee but all the hotels in the area have a fee and Haden Hall's fee was the same as the 24 hour parking lots. The room had a two burner stove and refridgerator. The pool was large and the area was nice. There were many lounge chairs. There was no restaurant or continental breakfast but many vending machines AND several grocery stores in the area.
