Nice stay in Hutchinson, KS
basketball mom Jun 14, 2009
We played in the MAYB kickoff classic and stayed in Hutchinson. It was a nice trip, enjoyed relaxing at the pool and in the ... hot tube between games. The kids in the hallways could have settled down earlier than 1:00 a.m., but other than that, it was a nice stay.

Good Value

The kids were disappointed that the water slides and lazy river were not running, but we did know this ahead of time. When ... we arrived we found out that the hot tub was closed also. The kids pool and the adult pool had a number of activities for families to do together. The room was nice and clean. The older lady who was in charge of the continnental breakfast was not friendly at all, but everyone else was.

Check on Cosmosphere and Salt Mine combo tickets. Saw a billboard later in the week about it and considered taking in the Salt Mine tours as well.

Enjoy the waterpark!...What waterpark?
frecklefarm Apr 22, 2009
We chose this hotel just because of the water park. Half of it was closed due to contruction, I didn't see any construction ... going on other that just being drained and closed. If I had known that this was the case, we would have went to Wichita to the airport Best Western that has a pool and putt-putt golf. My children were disappointed and I had to be creative to save the weekend from total ruin. Good thing we visited the Cosmosphere and enjoyed at least that. Not pleased at all with the pool area, very run down. There was also a storm that rolled in and we had to leave the pool area after only short time in the area that was open.

okay stay, some of pool area closed
Daniel Nov 29, 2008
Room was okay, a bit aged...but the reason we stayed there was the waterpark. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the jacuzzi ... was closed (it did open later)...but the slides were closed. Probably wouldn't have stayed there had I known.

Go for the pool or go elsewhere
Daryl Jul 23, 2007
I saw many families having a great time around the water. Unfortunately, I ended up there on other business. The ... renovation is pretty sketchy. The bathroom was Home Depot cheap and scaled for small folks. My room was quiet--even with all the children running through the halls. The staff was fine.

Super water park great for kids
Larry Jun 25, 2007
We stayed for three nights, and interacted with no less than four staff members at the front desk. All were extremely ... friendly and helpful. The highlight of the hotel is their water park. For the rate listed (only a few dollars more than budget hotels), I didn't have high hopes for the water park. Boy was I wrong! They had two fairly large slides (probably about 150' each) one that you needed a tube for, and one that was a body slide. The staff was good, keeping things safe ... anyone using common sense could just have fun without being scolded. They had a shallow kiddie pool with lots of spraying water, a 3-4' pool for basketball and playing, another pool with a rope net overhead for hanging on and floating lilly-pads to try to balance on. Also had a hot tub (very hot!) with a waterfall. The rooms were in average condition (caulking etc. looked a little tired), but the beds were comfortable (if firm) and pillows were fine. The restaurant was a bar and grill; didn't have crayons or anything for the kids. The food was good for bar-grub. Overall, a great option if you want to have some water-fun on your trip.

Great place for children
Jan Jun 23, 2007
The only thing I was truly frustrated with is both times I stayed, I had an issue with hours. We arrived at 8:50pm with two ... chilren very anxious to swim, only to find out the Indoor Water Park closed at 9:00pm for the children. The second time we stayed we were told we had a 11;00 check out and an extra hour would cost $45.00 or more. I feel the hotel should be more accomodating. Location was great!
