we experienced problems with our room, and it took the reception 2 days before they could send someone to have the problem ... fixed. The lower staff is friendly, but the reception personnel think they own the place and they treat you really rude.

The resort is quite big. Trains come every 15 mins. Downside is that only one place is open 24 hours for food and options ... arent all that great. You never know which buffet place is open which day. To eat at the specialty restaurants you have to line up an hour ahead of opening to even make a reservation. That system is really flawed. And if you do get into the restaurant the service is really slow. The food in general is not very good. The Disco on the resort was bad. It's literally all disco 70s music. If you want to go out you have to leave the resort. We went to Mangu which is at another nearby resort and Imagine. The bar staff was awesome. We even hung out with a couple after their shift was over. The Renova spa was amazing. Totally worth the money.

Walk on the beach to a restaurant called Captain Cook. Fresh seafood! The hotel food was not very good so this was a great change!

We were only there 3 nights so if you want to do things other than relaxing on the beach you really need a longer stay. We are planing on a longer trip next time so we can do more activities.

Jessie's Wedding Place
MobileGroomer Jun 23, 2009
My husband and I traveled here 6/19/2009 for my neices wedding. The in-laws are Cuban and all are bi-lingual. I only speak ... English. LOVED the resort because most of the staff were bi-lingual also. I noticed that if they weren't they got someone who was. Everyone was always busy doing something and when they pass by you ALWAYS heard "HOLA!" The wedding area was decorated with fresh flowers and lots of palm leaves. I got lovely photos and I'm not a photographer!

Ruined our vacation
Lauren Dec 28, 2008
The Grand Palladium Palace in Punta Cana was only enjoyable because I was with my family. The location and people in the ... Dominican were wonderful and I cannot say enough about how sweet the wait staff in the bars and restaurants and the housekeepers were. HOWEVER. Check-in and Check out was A NIGHTMARE! After spending thousands for our family to stay there, the front desk staff and management made it their mission to prove to us how much they didn't care about our needs. We are not by any means picky travelers, but this is was above and beyond the worst service i've ever had. The food was low grade buffet, not much of a selection, pretty much e same thing EVERY NIGHT. The Dry cleaning charged us way more than we had washed and when we tried to dispute it I was told I had washed a mans top coat ( I don't even own one, plus I am a woman and who wears a top coat in the dominican?!) I would have been happy to pay the extra 7 dollars for this but it became about principal that the front desk would even hear they had made a mistake. We were kept waiting am hour and a half to check out because they kept saying '5 more minutes' to check with the restaurant to prove we didn't go to the 'gala dinner which we had declined to attend. They ruined my say. It would have been so easy for them to be flexible and listen to our completely resonable requests.
