Beautiful hotel with some problems

The Golden Palace is quite beautiful although it can be very expensive. The room was spacious. The shower had excellent ... water pressure, almost too much as it was difficult to keep the water from hitting the shower walls and ending up all over the floor. The breakfast that was included with our stay was not very good...often cold or missing items entirely. Not your typical hotel fare...often chicken and vegetables were included, which is common in Armenia but a little disconcerting to the American traveler. The swimming pool was nice but the whirlpool did not appear to be working while we were there. The hotel is on a very busy street that was under construction making it dangerous to cross over to walkway that lead to the Cascade. Cabs would not even go there during certain times of day. Beautiful park right next door...no streets to cross...an old amusement type park with ferris wheel and smaller rides and where the statue of Mother Armenia is located.
