Amazing Location for the Price!
Sam Nov 1, 2009
We came for the weekend to go to Disney and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant at the hotel that is a buffet was very ... over priced for the quality of the food but other than that we had a great stay. There were refrigerators in each room which were nice. The hotel is very big so be ready to walk, I wouldn't advise it for someone who has difficulty walking. The location in respect to Disney is great. I would absolutely stay at this location again, I just wouldn't trust their restaurants.

Real treat!
Pellish Nov 1, 2009
I had wanted to stay here for a long time and was not disappointed. I was able to book a rate that was 50% off but the hotel ... is worth the full price if you can afford it. You can wander for hours in the atrium which is simply awe-inspiring. Too many choices to dine and enjoy a cocktail and was only here for one night. I was upgraded to an atrium view room for free and thought it would be noisy but quieter than most hotels. Room was overall very clean except for carpets but this is to be expected in any hotel unless you arrive day that carpets were last shampooed! Bathroom very nice, great lighting and toiletries.

Tom Aug 6, 2009
We just wanted a nice place to stay while we visited Seaworld. Parking is a real hassle, far away and you had to go to the ... proper area or you couldn't get in. All food is way too expensive and only mediocre quality. They charge you for everything. The rooms looked ok but weren't very comfortable. I should have gone to a Holiday Inn.

We chose to stay at the Gaylord Palms because it is a beautiful and a self sustained hotel. The service was excellent, the ... food delicious and the grounds are just gorgeous. You don't need to leave the hotel for anything but if you choose to, it's a quick trip to everywhere. We've decided that this is our official Orlando hotel.

Showy Hotel
Michelle not so impressed Jul 11, 2009
While the hotel itself is beautiful, we were given a room on the first floor facing the hotel lobby parking lot. The ... entrance light in the room did not work, the two bedside lamps did not work and the computer in the room had to be fixed. Don't bother with the computer, it is extremely slow. When we asked for another room, we were informed it costs $40 more for an "atrium" view when all I was asking for was to be moved of the first floor. Staff was not overly helpful. When I asked the bartender for the number for the restaurant inside the hotel, I was told to that I should ask someone else. There were only 4 employees to check in guests at check in time, I felt this was insufficient, there was a long line and no extra help. There is a $12 parking fee for parking your car yourself in a parking lot by the loading docks, not a garage. Over all, over priced and not too impressed.

Oasis...Paradise!!!
EZDUZIT 2 PERFECTION Jul 5, 2009
The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is a humongous breath-taking place. From the moment you see this grandiose ode ... to European mansions which can be seen from miles away, you know you're in for a heavenly blessing. The plant-life along with the display of alligators, turtles, and koi under the gigantic glass ceiling are what bring visitors to a state of nirvania. Under the attrium, there are several great places to eat. My personal favorite is the buffet style restaurant, Villa de Flora. This resort has a little something for everyone; family night fun, singles bars, and a 24hr adult swimming pool w/jacuzzi area. Almost forgot about the all night miniture golfing course with blue or red illuminated golf balls. Afterwards you can fill your stomach at the 24hr deli. There are some things I could complain about, but the good out weighs the bad (showers have low H2O pressure, rm's facing the attrium must deal with a little noise until 10pm, and avg. mattresses). It can also get a bit expensive (2 adults + 11yr & 3yr = $100 per day avg.). They also have a shuttle that takes patrons to and from Disney parks. Overall my entire family had a great time! Next time I plan on going back with just the wife!
Traveler type: Family
Be aware of the times the restaurants open and close. Definately plan to eat at the buffet style Villa de Flora (children under 12 eat at a discounted rate, 3 and under eat free) and Sams Seafood, at night only! There is a host of entertainment for the entire family.

I was there for a series of conferences. I had been at the one in Dallas, overall is a good resort. I know for conventions is ... a necessary evil to go to a large place, but its unbelievably spread out. It took me 20 minutes to walk from my room to the convention center.
