Staycation Priced Right
Zoniguy Aug 31, 2009
We live nearby and our stay here was an anniversary "staycation" because the rates this time of year can't be beat. The ... resort grounds were really lushly landscaped with beautiful trees and shrubs, a unique pool area with a sand "beach" and fire cauldrons at night. Our first floor room was very private with the patio behind tall walls but with nice trees and landscaping within. The room was clean and uniquely appointed. We got a great off season deal on massages for both of us. The bed mattress needed to be replaced however as it had high/low spots and rendered the massage moot as I woke up stiff from sleeping in a hole. Overall we were pleased. The grounds are great and the staff very helpful. Location is great for Scottsdale entertainments

Very nice hotel
Ariz St Parents Aug 24, 2009
We stayed at the Fire Sky while we helped our son check in for his first year at Ariz State. The hotel was in great ... condition. The lobby was very nice, upscale and plenty of room. The rooms were also very nice, large enough for four of us to stay. Each room has a porch or balcony. The pool areas were especially nice. This hotel is in a good location, not too far from ASU, and old town Scottsdale.

Great hotel for the price!
DebSColo Aug 10, 2009
Rooms were very clean and comforatable. Ours, however, did not face the pool. We never received a fish in our room, perhaps ... because we booked outside of the hotel system. We received a great price for our two day stay. Hotel was classy. Pools were clean and beautiful. Hotel is close to a fantastic shopping mall, within walking distance if you can stand the heat. Hotel provides a shuttle service in a Cadillac Escalade, if you so desire, within a 3-mile radius. This trip was meant to be a relaxing getaway for our son who is starting college. So we lounged by the pool, went to Old Town Scottsdale, and the Scottsdale Fashion Mall. If you are traveling with children of any age, I would pack snacks and lots of them as there are no vending machines and no convenience/liquor stores close by as we did not have a car. Poolside lunch was very good but if you have several hungry kids it can get expensive.

The room was rather small. While it did have a large TV, there was no DVD player, microwave, or bath tub. We were "upgraded" ... to a pool-side room, but this meant that we lost the balcony and sitting outside required seeing other people 10 feet away.

This hotel was awesome, the staff was out standing, there was wine tasting for one hour every day, for free. The pool staff ... servers were so nice and friendly with smiles on their faces! It was 115 degrees. Your hotel shuttle is a Cadillac Escalade. A very nice touch.

the hotel shuttle can take you to most places, all within 3 miles. Rent a car and drive to Sodona, and make sure you take the Pink Jeep Tour, best thing ever.

Time for Fun Jul 13, 2009
We only stayed for 1 night at the hotel and had a very pleasant experience. I would say the best feature of the hotel is the ... atmosphere. I just loved the vibe of the hotel and the music they played. The staff was very friendly. The only downfall would be the lack of food choices the hotel serves. The food was very good but the restaurant does not offer a lot of variety but was not that big of deal because the hotel is so close to Oldtown and Fashion Square.

My dream spot
Nina Jul 8, 2009
My boyfriend and I went for the weekend and we were blown away by the service. I have never experienced a friendlier staff. ... They have a wine tasting hour that was lively and fun; they also offer a free escalade to take you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel. My boyfriend and I are in our mid-twenties and there seemed to be a lot of people around our age. Also we noticed that although the hotel allows pets we didn't see or smell any animal poop!

Great place, if you don't need to sleep
Where have all the good hotels gone? Jun 24, 2009
They have a great concept here. The place is very charming. The pet-friendly concept is executed nicely. Neat decorator ... items and very friendly staff. Great wine-tasting hour. However. there are some serious issues. The AC in my room was very noisy. Although the resort advertises itself as non-smoking, my room was constantly filling up with cigerette smoke from the chain smoker two doors down on the second night. Also, hotel security is sub par. A group of drunks took over the pool area at 1:30 am on the second night. I finally called to complain at 2:30 am when it became clear that hotel security was not going to address the problem on thier own. It took them another hour to get the drunks to their rooms, although it is apparently hotel policy to evict problem people from the hotel. Once the drunks got to their rooms, the noise continued. No sleep for many people that night.
