Okay, but not great
Traveller Nov 14, 2009
The staff was nice. We were there for a boat show so didn't do much at the hotel. The problems were that the lock on the ... sliding doors to the balcony was broken and, on the second night, we couldn't get the air conditioning to work. The staff was good. A repairman came up both times. The first night, he replaced the lock. The second night, he fixed the air conditioner. We can't say that it was a bad experience, just that it could have been a little better.

PROS: Perfect location right in the middle of everything! Free WI-FI! Awesome pool! Awesome view! CONS: Room and hallways ... smelled of mold and it appeared to have mold on the ceiling. We wanted to stay an extra night and they said we needed to book it online and that they could not book it for us...kinda of weird but not a big deal since we had our laptop. Great deal for the price.

Very Good Place To Stay
paul1502 Sep 26, 2009
This hotel is very clean. The service is frendly and accomadating. The grounds are beautifull, the pools are plenty, the ... smiling waiters are at your beck in call. The beach is absolutly gourgous except for the annoying smelly jet ski's from a neigboring vendor that is not part of the hotel or its staff. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The front desk staff could'nt do enough. They even allowed for a free late time check out of 1:30pm

I've always wanted to stay at this hotel and finally got a chance. The rates for the room were affordable and I gotta tell ... you, you definitely get more than you bargained for. The outside doesn't look that great, but the inside is beautiful and the rooms are modern and spacious. It is a hidden treasure in a prime location right on the beach.

Nice family vacation Jun 29, 2009
Overall, the hotel was nice, friendly staff, good service. The only real problem we had was that the first room we were ... assigned to had an extremely moldy odor. After staying there for a few days, we requested a move to a different room, which was better, but still not mold free. Due to the location to the Costera, as well as the night club and bungee jump, it was noisy and impossible to leave your doors on your balcony open.

Juanita Jun 27, 2009
The hotel staff was VERY accommodating - the worst thing about the hotel was the noise from the beachside restaurants EVERY ... NIGHT UNTIL 3:30am. We chose that side of the hotel because it is the view we love, so we put up with the noise. The staff offered to change our room to the other side but I HAD to have the view. The room was cleaned very well and stocked with clean towels twice every day.

Good Value, Good Location
Robert Jun 7, 2009
Positive: I used to stay across the street at Tortuga - with my Orbitz Coupon I paid less at Fiesta Americana, and the pool ... is 100% better, and I enjoyed the beach club as well. Negative: On my 2nd day I got a phone call telling me to come to the consierge desk - they wanted to put their ID band on me - I hate those things, it's like tagging wildlife or branding cattle. Along with the wristband I got an invitation to a "free buffet" which included of course the time-share sales pitch. Before he could end his sentence I turned and walked away. I hate this crass sales pitch business. If you've stayed at the Ritz Carleton - they make it a point for staff to actually remember their guests and greet them by name rather than "banding" them; they once handed me a brochure about their condo-hotel offer, and room service breakfast was complimentary without a sales-pitch. I guess the bargain price comes with some crassness.

Good deal through Orbitz promo codes
Art B May 30, 2009
Good pool set up for taking sun, relaxing. Dont recommend going to the beach if you want to relax, too many sellers. Book ... through Orbitz, much better deal than anyone I asked what they paid for (avg 70 per night). Buy drinks, snacks, etc. at the Oxxo across the street of the hotel (a 10ounce long island iced tea at the pool was 70 pesos¡¡¡). The free breakfast is not really free, you have to attend a 90min. Villa sales presentation. Overall, we liked the hotel (upgraded to Villa for free since they couldn´t get our room´s door open - Villa is awesome, with two TVs, fridge, micro, zinc). We will be back here if the good deals continue to show up.

Excellent Hotel
Dj Supreme (DTFRADIO) May 28, 2009
The hotel is excellent, from the concierge to the room attendants everyone is extremely helpful and attentive to your needs. ... The pools are large and while the hotel does invite a lot of families w/children you are still able to find places in the pools which are peaceful. The food is very well prepared but the menus do lack variety however because of the location of the hotel eating out is a definitely possiblity with awesome food right down the block at Bieto's which was great. The clubs and bars are also within walking distance so there is no need to take cabs unless you are going to Mandara or Palidium but Disco Beach, Paradise and Ibiza are great places as well. One thing to watch out for is the beaches where the motto is SELL, SELL, SELL be prepared to fight off the vendors.
Traveler type: Couples
While the food inside the hotel is good, dining elsewhere is very easy with resturants within walking distance of the hotel. We at a place right down from the hotel called Bieto's twice it is down a long flight of stairs because its at beach level but the food was great, seafood all fresh and maintained in fresh tanks. Plus the bars are also within walking distance from okay places to grab a drink and talk outside to big clubs like Ibiza and Disco Beach all within walking distance. Excellent resturant La Masion is 5 mins from the hotel 50 pesos cab ride.

Not such a great stay after all
Mrs. Gatica May 24, 2009
I really was okay when i first got there except i added my parent in law for one night and they put me in a different room ... when later if ound there was a pull out couch and my parent in laws could have stayed there. The first room, the door was missing, there was no lock o n the balcony. Then when i got to the next room we had no cold water. They fixed it at 10pm at night, for one hour while i was trying to relax and then we didnt have hot water!!I called to advise them and told them not to bother us because it was our last day and we just wanted to be left i n peace. They sent someone up anyways and he fixed it after an hour and then we didnt have cold water again. When i first arrived I was told my calls to USA would be 25 pesos.. not per minute, per call. I verified many times and even called the fornt desk again and was told the same thing. I aksed for a copy of my bill and it was about 435 pesos per call!!! I contacted the Manager [...] to let her know I was mis informed and she said the most she could do was take off 25%. When I left a man named [...] took off another 25%. But there was no accomadations made to my room. Very upsetting!!!

Very impressed!
Funkymama Apr 22, 2009
I was quite impressed with the hotel. There is a fridge and security safe which was great. The beds were good, but as are ... most all hotel beds in Mexico, quite hard. I have a back problem and I actually had a friend that lives there bring me a soft pad to put under the sheets and it was perfect. The pools were lovely and clean, the beach access was lovely, the area very convenient. The only thing that I would do differently for next time is not have my room on that one side of the hotel as the nightlife is pretty loud. Ear plugs worked fine for me but it would have been nicer to be on the other side further from the bungy jumping and Barbarojas (so that would be the side closer towards the airport way..not sure what direction that is) Although, the view is absolutely beautiful on that side. Not sure what its like on the other side. We chose not to eat there but it looked like they had wonderful meals available. I will definitely go back to that hotel!

Hotel was great the only thing that i didnt like was the 90 minutes of your time that they do the next day that you arrive ... they try to sell you some kind of deal well it was a waste of my time so when they talk to you when you first arrive tell them that your not interested.also im sure in either other hotel they have restuarnts eat out cause its expansive dont pay 50.00 when you could eat cheaper outside of the hotel also if you sign up for the room with kitchen upon your check they wll ask you if you used the kitchen suplies(pots, pans and etc.)tell them no or if you could tell them that you wont be needed them cause the y wll charge you and extra 110.00 pesos...other then that tha hotel was awsome and yes i wll return to this hotel...also if going to acapulco wear a shirt that says thank you but no,but in spanish thats gracias pero no cause vendors are all lined up to sell

Great location and hotel staff
Joseph Dec 27, 2008
The room my family shared at the Fiesta Americana Villas was one bedroom suite with a small full kitchen. The room was clean ... and well maintained. There was a large screen TV in the living room area with enough chanels in English and smaller TV in the bedroom. You need to make sure to ask for the Quite Side of the hotel when you are checking in because there is a Beach Disco next to the hotel and if your room is on the opposite side of the hotel, it's almost impossible to sleep due to very - very noisy Disco music until 5:00 AM. Also, there is a $10 U.S. charge they will add automatically for using the kitchen so if you need to ask hotel staff to remove the charge for the kitchen use if you did not. The hotel location, pool, and the beach were good. The only problem accessing the beach is that you need to walk down and up more than 30 steps. Overall, I was satified with the hotel stay.
