The hotel features traditional Mexican beach town architecture, with a breezy lobby, bright orange and yellow colors, and Spanish tiled roofs. The hotels 224 rooms are clean, casual, and comfortable, featuring TVs, private balconies, and coffeemakers.
The Fiesta Americana Cozumel plays host primarily to serious scuba divers, who spend much of their day away from the hotel, returning home in the afternoon to reflect on their experience, nap by the pools, and socialize with other divers. Non-divers that seek refuge from the bustle of town appreciate the hotels peace, friendly service, and camaraderie with other guests.
At night, guests enjoy the hotels restaurants then gather at the Dive Bar between the lobby and the pool sharing comments about scuba and how peaceful is live in Cozumel.
The Fiesta Americana was built to satisfy scuba divers. Guests can sip coffee at the hotel restaurant while waiting for their boat, then walk a few steps to the dock to start their adventures. When they return, divers find wash tanks and lockers for their gear, allowing them to safely clean and store their equipment without having to trudge it to their rooms.
The man-made beach is popular for reading and watching the boats go by and the two hotel pools are a buzz with activities and socializing. The Hacienda Miramar restaurant serves international and Mexican cuisine in a romantic atmosphere, meaning guests dont even need to go to town to get a great meal.
The Fiesta Americana Cozumel is most popular with scuba divers and has an onsite boat dock and diving facilities. There are two pools, and also a tennis court which can be illuminated at nights. There is also a sand pit suitable for volleyball and another one for soccer.
The Fiesta Kids Club provides complimentary supervision and activities for children five and up daily from 9am to 5pm. The dive shop offers introductory scuba lessons by specialized instructors in the hotel pool on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for children ages 8-12. An full meal plan is available, which includes all meals, national drinks, and use of the hotels facilities.
A daily activities program offers games and fun activities around the pool, including bingo, and various contests.

GREAT dive weekend, great hotel
Diveduck Nov 17, 2009
This place totally exceeded all our expectations. It was in the perfect location, centered between the best dive spots and ... downtown. Short boat ride or taxi to either. We did the all-inclusive (strongly recommended for divers) and that worked out quite well. Breakfasts were blah, but sufficient to calorie up for dives. Lunches were AWESOME and dinners were PERFECT. The dessert menu was just plain evil. The staff is very friendly, and there seemed to be 3 staff for every one guest (very bad economy right now.) The hotel did not skimp on anything, keeping things clean and tidy. The stink from the septic system I've heard about was only evident slightly, probably due to low attendance. If there were 1,000 people flushing the can there, it would be worse. Flies were a problem from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunsets were astonishing, and we did evening/night snorkels for every one. The on-site dive shop was very friendly and helpful. Dive House is a great scuba operation. No frills, but good peoples. I will DEFINITELY return!

This was our 4th trip to Cozumel, but our first trip to Fiesta Americana. We loved being out of the bustle of town, and ... closer to the southern dive reefs. The 7th floor has an awesome view of the ocean and the sunsets. We loved the staff. The Dive House provided good service and equipment rentals.

Love the hotel, staff and the location south of town closer to the reefs. Utilized the activities desk and they were most ... helpful and accomodating. We rent a car, so no problems getting around. Absolutely beautiful resort!
The Jaynez Team Aug 27, 2009
This place MORE than exceeded our expectations. The resort was really clean (somebody was always cleaning, tidying, ... straightening, etc.), and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Anytime we needed a recommendation on a place to go for dinner, they would offer a few suggestions (and they turned out to be great suggestions!), and even quote the menu and pricing. Our room we booked online was for two twin beds, but the front desk upgraded us to a better room, with a king bed and a better view, for no extra cost. The room was spotless, and continued to stay that way each and every day, after housekeeping got done with it. And they go out of their way to give you your personal space and time, if you're in the room when they first come to clean. The pools at the resort were amazing, with the main pool sporting a mini bar you can swim to, and enjoy your cocktails while in the water. The atmosphere was very relaxing, with calm music playing throughout, and the sounds of the beach waves also lingered in the background. They had massage chairs laid out on the beach, but we didn't get to enjoy that, although the prices were reasonable... it would have been great, so perhaps next time! The resort restaurant was pretty good as well, although we spent majority of our time running around the island, trying out the local food fare. The resort breakfast spread was top notch, with both American staples, as well as traditional Mexican eating - however, it tends to be a little pricey if it's not included with your room. The activities staff was very friendly. They took us on a free mini-snorkeling tour around our hotel, and rallied up a friendly game of beach volleyball with others staying at the resort. In (sort of) short, THIS PLACE IS WELL WORTH IT! The Cozumel water is breath-taking (no pictures can do it justice), and the underwater reefs are just amazing, so check out a snorkeling tour!

CHEN RIO - that's the name of the restaurant near Playa de Chen Rio. This is a seafood joint, where a lot of locals, as well as tourists come on their tour, to enjoy the beautiful cove and semi-private beach, as well as the best fish tacos ever known to man. We're talking a whole red snapper with all the trimmings, for barely any pesos. It's a definite MUST SEE-EAT.

Hotel staff supported extra activities (rentals, dining recommendations) very well. Only bad experience was when an important ... call was not forwarded to one of our travelers when his mother had to check into the hyperbaric chamber following decompression illnes from a dive. The traveler was at the bar and that is where I advised the staff member he could be found (3 separate phone calls)

Hotel was very nice. Travel sucked! We arrived at the airport for departure 20 min. early and were denied bording. Flew out ... the next day. On the return flight we had a 3 hr. layover in Houston for customs and customs delayed us 3 and a half hr. We missed our return flight. We had to stay a night in houston, no big deal it happens, but were not advanced the courtesy of motel, shuttle or compensation. If you can imagine this, you need longer than 3 hr. layover if you have customs. If you don't make your flight because of customs, Continental Air leaves you on your own!! You guys did a great job! we were more than happy with accomadations, value and service. Thankx 4 a great trip!!!! Skip n Trisa :-)

Plenty of stores these days in Cozumel. We found it easy to stock up on supplies in the room and ate lunches there where it didn't cut into our play time and saved $. Get a car at least one day and go to the south and east side of the island. It is beautiful, deserted and you can get a beach all to yourself. Seems safe enough, we saw police twice while we were there.

Recommend going to Chankanaab Park for the Dolphin Discovery. The Dolphin experience was great. It is five minutes from the Hotel. We only did three days of two tank boat scuba diving including one day for a night dive and wished we did four or five days of diving. Best dive was at Palancar Caves. Our night dive was at Paradise reef but I would not recommend it. It was OK but there are better places further south. We used Aqua Safari for the night dive and now wished that I used the Dive House for the night dive. Was not impressed with the one dive that I did with Aqua Safari. The Dive House would set up everything for you and went out of their way to help you while Aqua Safari basically said here's your tank set it up yourself. I heard good things about Aqua Safari prior to the trip but based on our one dive experience I will stick with the Dive House. Aqua Safari lost my dive mask (I think they threw it overboard accidently) and almost lost my daughters dive light. Dive Master said that my daughter dropped her dive light as she was getting out of the water but I saw her give the dive light to one of the helpers as she was getting out. I came out after her and gave them my mask and most likely it went overboard along with my daughters dive light. The Dive master just noticed the dive light only.
