Everything was excellent; the room were very spacious and comfortable, staff was very professional and friendly. We did ... unfortunately have an ant problem during our stay. Ants got into my kids cereal and other foods. They were first noticed in the bathroom (strange place) coming from the sink. The Manager did offer to discount our stay but because it was booked through Orbitz could not accomadate. Maybe Orbitz can do something for us.

While the hotel is a decent distance (relative to other higher priced) to downtown, you can't beat the price. Very helpful ... staff gave us tips on where to eat on a budget and answered all questions we had.

If you are like me you look at these reviews and not the hotels description of itself. Well this one is an old hotel ... converted to what it is now. The staff is outstanding! The regular rooms are sufficient and clean with very little room to move around in and a small bathroom. The suites are Awesome! Suites have plenty of room, all the way around, a desk, a fridge, a microwave and a balcony. The staff is outstanding! This was our first time to Key West. The beaches sucked, Duval street was full of people smoking (a lot)so we ended up spending most of our time at the hotel. The pool is crystal clear, very clean, large and refreshing. The "tiki bar" is located right next to the pool and is very cozy and yet never crowded. Cont. Breakfast fit for a King including fresh made waffles! The exercise room is very clean and inviting with excellent equipment. The staff is outstanding! A small but very friendly computer room. Wifi in every room FOR FREE !!!! The hotel is situated right on US 1 which makes for some noisy rooms at the front of the hotel, but the rooms in the rear are quiet. Overall a very splendid hotel and a comfortable stay. Did I mention the staff is outstanding! Just remember, if size matters, GET THE SUITE!

Really need a cab or car (not recommended -- very limited parking) to get to town and/or beach. Not much happening near the ... hotel. Cabs are easy to get, and the trolly for the first day to get one's bearings is recommended --the hotel is a scheduled stop. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We had planned to use the sofa bed (in the suite) for sleeping (4 of us), but the mattress was not comfy. Within minutes of our complaint, the mattress was replaced with a queen-sized mattress on the floor. Sleeping was a breeze! Oh, yeah -- the suite had a balcony poolside, microwave, and mini fridge. Very nice. A bit loud / traffic noise outside, but with the door closed, room was silent. Would go there again.

The staff was not only friendly but knowledge of the area was great. We went to the Conch Restaurant on referrel and it was ... dead on. The room was wonderful, cool, clean and fresh everyday we were there. I definitely would go back and stay at the Fairfield in no question. It's only two miles from Duval Street and there are a couple of other restaurants in walking distance and the beach was only a mile away.

We took advantage of a lot of the offerings on this trip, visiting the old forts, the Butterfly Conservatory and the public beach. Enjoy the Blues music at the Sunset Pier in the evening. We had excellent meals at Willie T's and Fogarty's (Try the ribs). The R-rated act of Pete & Wayne at Sloppy Joe's is excellent.
