Amazing location and reasonable rates

Dreaming Writer Oct 27, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The room was smaller than I had expected, especially for a delux room. But the bed, pillows, and sheets were very ... comfortable. There was no noticable noise, either. The location was utterly fantastic, too, only a short walk from all kinds of attractions. I would definitely recommend it for someone traveling on a budget.

Executive Hotel NOT for Executives

Tracy Rosa Oct 26, 2009

This was NOT place to stay if you need a restful night sleep or need to be somewhere at a certain time as facilities are not ... dependable. While the location and price are attractive, these factors add to many 'partiers' staying whom you can hear all night through the thin walls with honking and partying on the street as well. When the Hotel Staff advises one should open the window if cooling the room is needed, that only lends to more noise with the hotel being on a main street. When I went to sleep the hotel air was on, but sometime in the middle of the night, they "switched" to heat and I awoke to a very hot room. The staff stated that 1/2 the hotel switched so I would need to change rooms to keep from having heat blast. I changed rooms and was in a slightly better laid out room (505) which I was advised was the "Supreme Queen". That is the category I had paid for in the beginning so they had just taken my money the first two nights not providing the Supreme room!! Make sure if you pay for the Supreme, you get the larger room! The later room was slighly bigger, but I could not imagine having more than one person in the room as one had to manuver to use the smaller bathroom facilities. The third night, the hotel "switched" in the middle of the night and AGAIN, I awoke to a blasting hot room. This makes it difficult to dress and be prepared for the sales calls! No notice was given, no apologies, and the hotel has NO FANS! Opening the window does not work when it's raining and there is no breeze! While I had read the reviews and anticipated a small room with questionable cleanliness, I knew I could ask for the room to be serviced if needed. The second room clearly had been occupied by a woman as makeup was all over the counter. I cleaned that up and had no idea how all the hair could be on the ceiling. That was odd. I overlook peeling paint and patched walls as this was a vintage hotel. The sheets were clean.

The room was a disappointment

HPA Oct 13, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

It was certainly adequate for our very short (less than 12 hour) stay. Have stayed here numerous times and this is the first ... room that was really in bad shape...paint peeling, cracked plaster, etc. Bathroom was almost too small to turn around in. We have loved it in the past. This time I will consider before going again, tho the location cannot be beaten. The price did seem to be too good to be true.

Details make all the difference

Gen X Traveler Oct 11, 2009

The room was small, but more than adequate for one person. I was disappointed by the lack of attention to details--worn ... patch on vinyl headboard, peeling wallpaper, holes in wall, worn patches on chair and ottoman, duvet also had worn patches and probably needed to be replaced, and pillows weren't fresh (which is pretty awful). There is no complimentary lotion and a razor blade costs $6 because it's a part of a "shave kit". These are things that I'd accept at a 2 star hotel. The other reviews about the paper thin walls are true: I heard the busy elevator power up and down throughout my stay, doors closing on my level, and every time someone knocked on a neighbor's door, I thought they were knocking on mine! Location is right next to the library downtown and the location is super. Don't expect to get a street view window--mine was of the parking structure, so I couldn't tell if the sun was out. Bed was very comfy.

Nice place!

This is a nice place. Not the newest, deffinately has some wear and tear, but the location is awesome for an on-a-budget ... Seattle tourist. The A/C was shut off half way through our stay. We were told the entire hotel switches from A/C to heat on a prescheduled date. This was awful and should have been re-evaluated since it was unusually warm in Seattle during our stay. We fried.

Heat stroke

EMT Oct 7, 2009

A decent hotel for the price but they are having serious problems with their heating system. I got to my room about 3pm, ... immediately turned off the heater - not down but off entirely - and at midnight it was still so hot it made me sick. Normally, this is the type of hotel I would end up being a regular at but the heating was enough to make me put it on the 'avoid like the plague' list. A shame really..

This property is situated at an ideal location for business and leisure travelers alike - in the middle of Seattle's ... commercial district and less than five blocks from Pike Place and the harbor. The staff was friendly and attentive to guests' needs, but they do charge extra for some common amenities such as toothpaste ($5!!) and the hotel is in a relatively old building. Overall, I had a very positive experience and would recommend this hotel.

Dining hint, Short Walk

I very much liked the Purple Cafe, two blocks away on 4th Avenue, and the restaurant of the Monaco Hotel directly across the street from the Executive Hotel Pacific. Both have terrific food and service. They're not cheap, however.

Entertainment hint, Long Walk

COMING FROM TRAIN STATION OR BALL PARK< much easier to walk on first, second or third rather than 4th. avoid steep hill by coming up from union pike the hotel.

--Baseball fan Nana, Eugene

Dining hint, Short Walk

There's a Pan-Asian restaurant called Wild(?) Ginger with excellent food. It was so good, I went two nights in a row.

Dining hint, Short Walk

McCormick & Schmick's is just 3 blocks west of the hotel. Excellent seafood and fantastic service.

Money savers hint

If you plan on staying in downtown Seattle you do not need a car if you stay here.

--Traveler Chris, Phoenix, AZ Aug 17, 2009

Dining hint, Short Walk

Lots of choices

Recreation/Attractions hint, Long Walk

Qwest Field was about a mile walk.

--Gail Coug Fan, Keizer, Oregon Aug 3, 2009

Nightlife hint, Long Walk

Was totally dead in downtown Seattle after the Torchlight parade. Don't know if it was normal or not.

Shopping hint, Short Walk

It took only about 15 min or so to walk to Pike's, Westlake shopping center and other stores from this hotel. It's a safe walk with lots of people in business attire. Bus is also an option that's convenient.
