I would recommend this hotel. The Room we stayed in: Large firm bed. Might not have enough hangers for clothing, but the ... closet space is adequate. Small minibar fridge, but it may be cheaper to order drinks from room service (room service from 8am to 11:30, if i remember correctly?). The room service wasnt too expensive and it was good foor (e.g. pizza for about 7 euro). No microwave or oven. Bathroom was nice and had a hair dryer (no bath tub). The room also had AC that you could control. There was an outside patio (very small, 2 feet by 6 feet? for smoking?). A nice flat screen cable TV that pretty much only carried Spanish channels (we did get CNN international) The Hotel: Nice hotel with an 24hr business center (an open computer with internet and printer by the lobby). Pool on the roof (small but nice). Restaurant and Bar, although expensive (breakfast is an open buffet that starts at 7am for about 14 euro a person). If I remember correctly the bar closes at 11:30pm and you probably wont find anyone else there (empty). Very good location. A block from a nice grocery store, plenty of ATMs, plenty of cafes nearby and about 4 blocks from 'Passage de Gracia' (large street with many stores and restaurants). An able-bodied person wouldnt have a problem walking to 'Ramblas' and down to the coast (maybe a 45 minute stroll to the coast or a 6-8 euro cab ride). The hotel is about a 20 minute cab ride from the airport. City: Loved the city. Keep in mind, you wont find anything open until about 8am. Many of the stores close around 8pm but restaurants and bars typically stay open late (well past midnight). Also restaurants and bars may not open until abut 8pm, but you should be able to find places to eat throughout the day at any time. Lunch is around 2-4pm. Museums may not be open on certain days or at certain times. We got a two day 'tourista bus' tour for about 27 euro a person. This bus is 'hop on hop off' and includes coupons to certain museums.

The Hotel Europark is a beautiful, black and white, experience. The entire hotel is done in a modern, tasteful B/W decor. The ... location is great, easy access to everything with 24 hour room service and friendly desk attendants. We arrived before noon and were given rooms well before the 3:00 check in. We walked around the city of barcelona, shopped and ate. Went to La Boqueria, an outdoor market. What would have made my stay ... more enjoyable would have been a bigger room; it was unbelievably small with very very little walk room. The previous trips I have taken had really nice rooms and the service was wonderful with very friendly staff :)

The hotel was right in the middle of everything in Barcelona. A nice short walk to la rambla, a short taxi ride to park ... guell. Not to mention how clean and classy the place was. I will look to stay here again on my next trip to Barcelona.

I would recommend this hotel to a friend. While the location was nice (a few blocks walk to city center), one person on the ... staff made our stay less than enjoyable. I dealt with a few different people at the front desk and they were helpful. However, my husband had two really bad experiences with one of the staff. First, my purse was stolen at the cafe across the street so we immediately went to the hotel to find out where the consulate was so that I could replace my stolen passport. The man seemed unwilling to help us and then after my husband asked a couple of times, he finally pointed it out on the map and got a taxi for us. This was all the while I was standing next to my husband in tears. There was no sensitivity. Then as we were preparing to leave, my husband started to take our bags out to the car and the same staff member ran out after him and accused him of stealing the bags. He later apologized saying that their policy was for the guest to tell the front desk they were leaving with their bags. I have stayed in hotels all over Europe and have never heard of this policy--including two other hotels in Spain. Aside from the bad egg on the staff, the hotel is nice and the rooms are a decent size for a European hotel.

The location was great. It was in a quieter location but still within very easy walking distance to many sites. The room was ... very modern and comfortable. The potato chips in the mini bar were free and the prices for other items were very reasonable. Only complaint, no red wine in the mini bar, so I bought my own! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
