Great value for money-excellent location

As a couple on a fly drive holiday (early 50's) we found our stay at the ESD-Orlando Convention Centre on Universal Blvd to ... be ideal for someone looking for a great value location. The studio/room we occupied was a good size, spotless, well decorated in a floridian style and well equiped for anyone who wished to avail of kitchen facilities. The reception and breakfast area was also kept spotless and continental breakfast (bagels, danish pastry, muffins, various fruits, yogurts, cream cheese, jam, tea, coffee, fruit juice) was included in the price and this was a great bonus whilst in Florida both in saving time and saving money. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. We stayed a few nights at the start of our fly drive holiday before moving on and as we found it satisfactory returned there at the end of our holiday for several nights as we liked the location (much quieter than International Drive but only a short walking distance from it). WE WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION IN RETURNING TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL ON OUR NEXT TRIP TO FLORIDA - A GOOD LOCATION AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY FOR ANYONE DOING FLORIDA ON A BUDGET. DOWNSIDE OF OUR STAY 1. We found the corridors leading to the studios/rooms were dull and a bit off putting due to the decor and not as tastefully decorated as the rooms (dull mustard walls and rust coloured carpets). 2. The air conditioning units were quite noisy but we did get used to the noise. 3. During our stay there was a problem with the gate leading to the pool area which meant it had to be kept unlocked which was not a problem for us but perhaps not so good for families with very young children. All things considered WE WILL CERTAINLY RETURN TO STAY.

We found it difficult to find internet access whilst not having a laptop with us so anyone who needs to use the internet can access it for $5 for 30 minutes at 'BAD A-- COFFEE' on International Drive (they have printing available also). (Location - turn left when coming out the door of ESD and take 1st road on left. The next road you come to is International Drive. 'Bad A-- Coffee' shop is located on the far side of the road). (Due to the spelling of the name of the coffee shop the review will not print the full name but if hotel staff are asked I am confident they will be able to advise this).

Everything was GREAT from the friendly service to the free breakfast. When we arrived, they let us check in early. That was a ... PLUS since we had traveled over 7 hrs with children. The pool was nice to have but not so clean, I think it would have been better. The maids were very nice in cleaning and leaving towels. We really needed those, there was 5 of us. On the way out, we were 5 minutes late from the check out time but the young lady in the front thanked us and let us go on our way. Nice to go back on the road again. My only concern what that the hotel asked in you wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. But regardless the hotel upstairs smelled like cigarettes. all over the place. Other than that everything was fabulous!!! Looking forward to booking my next travel with cheaptickets again!!!

TO MY KNOWLEDGE AND MY OPINION, I WAS SURPRISE WITH THIS HOTEL RATE BECAUSE IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED!!! THE HOTEL EVEN ... SUPPLY YOU WITH THINGS THAT YOU FORGOT TO BRING LIKE FOR EXAMPLE; TOOTHBRUSH, COMB, TOOTHPASTE, SHAMPOO, ETC, ETC. ALSO, THE LOCATION IS WONDERFUL AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING, YOU CAN EVEN WALK EVERYWHERE. BEFORE I CHOOSE THIS HOTEL I READ THE PEOPLE COMMENTS AND I WAS SO SURPRISE TO FIND OUT THAT THIS HOTEL WAS READ A 2 START HOTEL WHEN I CAN GAVE IT A 5 PLUS. BREAKFAST WAS OK, BUT THEY CAN ADD MORE IN THE FUTURE. REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY OFF, IF PEOPLE START GIVING THIS HOTEL A GOOD RATE, SO WELL, MAYBE IN THE FUTURE WE WILL FIND HOT BREAKFAST!!!
