I drove to downtown Portland within 15 to 20 minutes. I spent the day taking care of some business and meeting family for a ... luncheon. I did some shopping and returned to the hotel by 3:30p.m. I then walked to Washington Square which is a large shopping mall. I did some more shopping and had an early dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I returned to the hotel for a quiet evening.

Have stayed here before (several years ago, when our children were young). Returned to the area for a vacation and chose ... Embassy Suites because of the large room, complimentary breakfast, and outside-the-city location. This hotel absolutely caters to hosting company events and meetings in its ballrooms, so it was always quite noisy, and the parking lot was always packed, making it difficult to find convenient parking. We did not experience this during our visit a few years back. In addition, staff allowed hotel patrons to remain in the plaza area watching sports events until nearly 11 every night, which generated a great deal of noise. Don't choose this Embassy Suites if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful stay.

I think they try to cram too many people into the hotel and the pool, elevators and breakfast area cannot handle the number ... of guests. TVs need to be updated, maybe at least one flat screen per room? Embassy Suites would not be my choice in the future, too crowded. I enjoyed the Garden Inn better. Breakfast area seemed understaffed, they ran out of several items that we use such as juice and warm eggs

Have stayed there before. Hotel is unique for a muti-story in that it is dog friendly. Location is only a few blocks from ... Gateway Park, with a superb paved-walk network and lots of open space, and adjoins Washington Park mall. If you are traveling with your pet and also want to do some shopping this is the place to stay.

Staff stepped up to help out when originally assigned a room directly across from the elevators. New room was much quieter. ... There were a lot of families and business travelers staying during the week which made it pretty crowded. Prefer to take stairs to first floor... which was not an option because they ended in emergency exits only. Elevators were slow, noisy and a bit white knuckle for my wife.
