In town on business. Hotel was very nice; good bed, good shower, clean. Would have preferred to have a balcony room. Air ... worked very well in sitting area, but did not extend as well to the bedroom area when the connecting door was closed.

Worst Hotel Customer Service EVER!!
Truly Disappointed Traveler... Oct 18, 2009
Before I even checked in my most important bag was stolen from the locked Bellman's Closet, looks like an inside job. Hotel ... staff acted like it was no big deal after I tried to explain to them how important the contents were. Hotel insurance claims they are only responsible for $250, which does not even cover the bag...let alone the laptop, jewelry, prescriptions/glasses/camera/ipod etc in the bag. Manager was useless, Director of Security did not contact me until I was in the cab to leave! (2 days later), [...]

Worst Stay In Chicago I have ever had!
Ruth Oct 16, 2009
The front desk people were unfriendly and unhelpful. [...] We had paid in advance for 4 room nights and they put us in for ... three. Had to go back down to the front desk and get that straightened out. Called the general manager who then emailed and said that he was sorry and he would take care of it - but never did anything about the fact that our room was a smoking room and smelled terrible or anything else. I will never stay at that hotel again. I was in town on business and scoping it out for a conference that I am bringing to Chicago in 2011. I will definitely not take my members there!

Great Hotel

I have frequently stayed at Embassy Suites for business travel and they are always great. This one was no exception for ... family travel. The location was perfect. Just a few blocks away from the lake, the river, and Michigan Ave. My only complaint was that breakfast was always super busy and they seemed to run out of items like silverware fairly often.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites while visiting Chicago. The price was comparable to other hotels but the large two room ... suite, great full breakfast, complimentary drinks during happy hour, and location made the choice easy. I've stayed at Embassy Suites hotels in the past and we enjoyed our stay this time as well.

The hotel was in a great location. The rooms were nice. The breakfast was okay. Lines were long esp. on the weekends. I got ... a good rate for the hotel. Many attractions were within walking distance as well the guided tour buses did stop across the street from the hotel. I had a room with a limited view but could see Lake Michigan. The walls were thin so you did hear the neighbors.

I have stayed at this hotel before and it is always pleasant. I had a bad experience however with valet parking. My GPS was ... missing at pick up even though all the cords and accessories were still there. For $50 a night for parking it was 1/3 of my stay cost and I would expect efficiency not theft.

The service was great. The suite, is really a suite, sitting room/separate bedroom. It is great for small family get ... aways. The kids enjoyed the fold out sofa in front of the large screen tv. The full breakfast, with cooked to order omelets was fantastic. With the pool, the kids really didn't see a reason to leave the hotel, even though we were in Chicago for PINK concert. It a great location for American Girl, Navy Pier, Museums, shopping.

Assuming I end up paying what Cheaptickets said I will be charged it is a very good value. The daily complementary real ... breakfast and happy hour were a fantastic surprise. There weren't any cups for the coffee maker in the morning but the free brewed coffee in the restaurant was better anyway. I had to stop at the desk to check out because the hotel tried to charge me for parking and I didn't have a car there. I would have liked to have received a copy of what I was charged for my stay upon checkout.
