Strike two and we were ready to cross this hotel off our list, but they came through nicely in the end. Our first room wasn't ... the new tower, balcony room I paid for. The 2nd room's air conditioning wasn't working. When I called the front desk they quickly put us in an upgraded room, really upgraded, to a beautiful suite, and after that the stay couldn't have been any more perfect. The pools were great, the service great, the beach was beautiful and overall it was a great stay that we would definitely try again. The suite helped, but it really was a great place.

Restaurant choices are not nearby and require driving into Miami. Parking is expensive so public parking made available next to hotel for $10 all night..no in and out. Food is expensive and some rooms don't have mini refrigerators. Water should be bought in advance unless you want to pay $7 for a medium size bottle. Try Ft. Lauderdale...

Room paid for 3 weeks in advance, upon check-in no reservations found in system. Paid for new ocean view tower and was ... temporarily set-up in old tower with view of parking lot..not what we paid for. Credit card was charged for room and taxes after room was paid for in advance 3 weeks prior to arrival. Not many choices for restaurant food and will never stay there again.

Can't go wrong with Eden Roc.
Beantown Tourist. Aug 27, 2009
First off, we had a great view of the ocean for a room with partial view. If you don't at least get a room with partial or ... full view you will be faceing the opposite building tower of the hotel, not great so spend a bit for partial it's worth it in my opinion. Front desk, door persons and attendents were all helpful and curtious. Though several days after my stay I noticed they charged my account a second time for the stay but that should be adjusted soon. We all make mistakes, I would still return so no big whoop! The pools are great, all five of them. There is an adult only pool and hot tub. Me likey! The retaurant nearest the beach has great mango bread, I kid you not. My only gripe is the long ramp you navigate to the beach. It would be nice to have a more direct path to the beach like 99% of all the other hotels do. I kid not! One tid bit of advice, have breakfast outside the hotel at any number of the better less expensive diners or restaurants. Way too much $ for what you get. Finally, I like the hotel and how its quiet but not too far from Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road. So give it a try!

I'd say the seafood retaurant "A Fish Called Avalon"(We came here twice) is great its on Ocean Drive and on the flip side stay away from the restaurant "Grill Fish". The service was so bad(it took over five minutes to get a waiter on a not so busy Thursday night) and the food was not what you'd expect (bland food and service)for what you paid. Plus you can go to the bars Mango's or Cleavandor for great live music and dancing a block or two away from Avalon hotel.

The location is great! It's right at the beach, so you just leave your room, pick up a towel (the hotel provide beach towels) ... and you are ready to get tan:-) There is a restaurant open 7 days a week and grill on the weekends. It is expensive thou ;-( The hotel staff is very friendly and nice. We got the room next to elevators and it was very noisy, but the staff changed our room without any trouble (they even gave us ocean view:-)) The only complaint I have is that it is a little noisy. When you are in the room you can hear shutting of the door and people talking on the hall. But overall we had a blast! Great hotel! Of and if you want to go shopping on Lincoln Dr it's about 40min walk on the boardwalk or 10min drive.

O.M.G. super fantastic stay at the eden roc hotel. Our first stay at this hotel was about 3 years ago and at that time one of ... our favorites. After the renovation this hotel exceeded our expectations. From the moment you arrive to the moment you check out someone is there to answer all your questions and assist with any and all requests. The staff are very helpful and very pleasant. The room was cleaned everyday and restocked with toiletries. They also have valet parking if you drive. The hotel has four fantastic pools with 1 on an upper level for adults only and on Sunday had a fantastic D.J. for most of the day playing the hottest tunes from club to old school to house to r.b. to rock.

Great Hotel. Concierge needs to be more knowledgeable about Miami Area. The AC needs some work. Add a refrigerator in the ... rooms. Every thing is way to expensive!!!!!!.

Buy your own food - go to Publix Supermarket on 68th street and Collins Ave. Taxi ride are expensive, better off renting a car - but, parking becomes way expensive. The beach needs major cleaning - to many people smoking and dumping the cigarettes button on the sand, a lot of debris in the water. Too bad that Florida is not going green. While at the hotel my boyfriend and I did some dining and swimming at the beach and pool. The food wasn't that great but the ... presentation and customer service was good. I disliked how I could hear everything going on in the hallway- whether it was staff or other hotel guests. I believe there was even a point when I heard the conversations of the hotel guests right next to our room. I didn't realize how thin the walls/doors were.
Traveler type: Couples
There's alot of dining options along Ocean Ave but it was somewhat in the pricey side. Along Washington, there are alot of clubs and cheaper dining as well.
