Good accomodations for cheap!
Chicken Man Nov 13, 2009
Check-in and check-out was smooth. The location was very convenient for me, although YMMV. The rooms were clean and the ... beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was fine--you have your choice of cold cereals, bagels, french toast, croissants, doughnuts, or small pre-packaged sausage biscuits, with the typical array of breakfast-type drinks. The industrial toaster they have to heat up your French Toast, or toast your bagel is apparently on its last legs, but it works well enough that you won't starve by any stretch. It was a little noisy at the hotel. You have to temper that assessment by the fact that you are right next to I-85, the airport, and the road leading from the interstate to the airport, though. The noise level is your only real trade-off for the convenience of the location. I didn't feel like security was much of an issue--there were no bums hanging around, or anything like that (I have stayed in hotels where that was a problem.) Even though my room was close to the office, the wireless internet signal strength would fluctuate, but I chalk that up to the fact that the area was being hammered by the effects of hurricane Ida. When I travel, I like to watch a movie or two, ones that I didn't catch in theaters, but have not hit DVD yet. This hotel advertises in-room movies, but for some reason that service was unavailable during my stay. That was a bit of a downer, but maybe it was weather-related...

Well located, had a couple of issues
Passion For Travel Oct 27, 2009
Econo lodge is very close to the Airport. Great for late and early flights. I would request a room on the opposite side ... From the Freeway. The wife was bothered by the freway traffic. The Shower didn't drain well, the water was rusty. Please see my review from a week later we stayed in a different romm that had no such issues.

Found some great food. DR Cheys Noodle house is great. It is downtown and has great Vegitarian options. We went to Jack of the Woods which is an Irish Pub that has good food and nightly local music. "Old timey and Bluegrass". It was great and not expensive.

Very Clean and Safe.
Passion for Travel Oct 27, 2009
We enjoyed this Hotel. It was very Clean and safe. It is a ways out of town, but not to bad. Short drive to everything. We ... saw the Biltmore while we were there and drove the buleridge Parkway. This Hotel was a great Value. The Hotels in Ashevile double their prices on Fridays.

Great Location

The Econo Lodge was in a great location, nearby airport, and close to shopping. We were able to take a shuttle to the ... airport from the hotel, and leave our cars there the entire time we were gone for no charge. Staff was nice and helpful.

Great for 1-night stay
Steven Apr 16, 2008
This is a good place to spend overnight when you have an early flight, or as I did, a late flight in to Charlotte. The place ... was clean, staff was pleasant, and they had a nice continental breakfast. Perfect for a one-nighter.
