Great Hotel, Great Location

This was a family trip. The location of this hotel is wonderful. We were about 15 min from Seaworld, 20 min from Legoland, 10 ... minutes from the DelMar beaches. Restaurants and grocery stores were only minutes away. The freeway is easily accessible. The staff was very friendly and incredibly accommodating. With a family of 4, the closet space was wonderful. The rooms and hotel itself are very clean. We called the careline for a few amenities a few times and had them within minutes of asking. Housekeeping was very flexible and friendly. The staff was wonderful. It doesn't say on the website, but if you need a fridge, it is available for a small weekly fee. We asked at check in and it was delivered right away. The only problem we had was a very noisy soccer team of girls that checked in the day before we left. Late nights, early mornings. Very loud and disrespectful. Of course this is not the hotels fault, but it seems like there were a lot of teams coming and going. may want to double check upon check in to make sure you're able to have a room away from these activities if you have children with you. They do have a nice fitness center but it is small. We were able to use it a few days, but most days it was full. There were 2 ellipticals, 2 treadmills and a few weights. Pool area is beautiful. We didn't eat at the restaurant, we though it was a little on the pricey side. Overall, our experience was very good and we will stay here again.

The stay was nice and quiet. We were never bothered and it was at a great location away from the city congestion of traffic, ... smog, and noise. Everywhere we drove to was within l0-15 minute drive and was convenient. This experience was about up there with the rest of my hotel stays, the only downside was most of the hotels I've stayed at usually have free wireless internet in their rooms at no cost.

Balboa Park, La Jolla beach, Birch Aquarium, etc were all within 10 to 15 minute drives of the hotel. Very nice and short drive.

There is a great Italian REstaurant by the ocean. It is definitely a walking town, once you drive to Del Mar by the ocean - but this italian restaurant is awesome. It is on the corner, West side of the street, next to the book store (can't remember what it is called). Good service, yummy food.

Attending a wedding, also the air condition worked sometime. The Bed was so uncomfortable that I felt like I was falling out ... the entire night. I had to put a pillow under the mattress to level it out.

Hotel was nice, but two things stuck out to me - first, the shower didn't work very well in the morning. The hotel front desk ... called up to see if we could let their technician take a look at it (we didn't call them, they called us) and the guy came in, took one look, and left. When we were checking out, we weren't offered any discount for the trouble or the non-really working shower. The second thing is that, like most places, if you are young, they don't pay much attention to you and gravitate toward the older people before they serve you. Annoying.

We were very pleased with the room size and the comfortable beds. The hotel staff was very accomodating, and extremely ... helpful when we had questions about the surrounding areas. We had some trouble with the internet connections. The location of the hotel is a bit tricky if you arrive in the dark. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, and would like to revisit it ourselves.
