Great hotel but the unknown mandatory $24.00 vallet parking caught me off guard. The only other choice is to park down the ... block and walk back to the hotel. It's public parking so you have to pay to park there as well. The staff was great and the hotel was nice but lie to me put that $24.00 parking fee onto the room and tell me I"m getting free vallet parking.

Free shuttle ride down and less than $10.00 cab ride back.

Nashville Doubletree
K. Davis Sep 28, 2009
I always like staying at the Doubletree whenever I travel. However, this particular one; I am not a fan of. From the time I ... pulled in to valet to the time I checked out, I encountered less than professional and unfriendly staff. The food was substandard and the atmosphere was questionable (a number of people (at 3:00 AM)standing around outside the hotel smoking and drinking--clearly intoxicated; and several people inside the lobby lounging around as if they were in the comfort of their own home--barefoot and drinking!)The story is too long to go into detail, but needless to say, I will not be staying at the Doubletree in Nashville ever again!

Nice hotel, good service
Lala Jul 20, 2009
The Doubletree is within a few blocks of all of downtown Nashville's attractions, just a short walk. The rooms were neat and ... clean. We stayed on the executive floor on the first night, which really wasn't notably different from the other floor we stayed on for the rest of our stay. One of the ladies at the front desk was exceptionally helpful with upgrading our room to a king sized bed, which is not always easy to do, particularly when the hotel was crowded. The beds were very comfortable w/ lots of extra pillows! The hotel has a nice lounge with a patio as well as Starbucks, which was great in the mornings! I was really impressed with the equipment in the fitness center, one of the better ones that I have seen in a while. The pool was nice too, although an outdoor pool would have been better. My only negatives are that the hotel seemed to be overwhelmed on the weekend due to a conference and we were unable to get a shuttle to the airport. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and one of the valets could not locate our friend's car (although it was eventually located). This is not something that would keep me from staying here again though as the hotel was great.

Unbeatable location for the price
Businesswoman Jul 13, 2009
I had business the first day I was there. It was two blocks from the hotel so I did not have to move my vehicle in order to ... get there. Parking rates are extremely high and for a city where you have to have a vehicle to get around, I think it's exorbitant. I was disappointed to have to negotiate for a king size bedroom when I had reserved it the day before and had been given assurances from the web site customer service rep that they had spoken to someone from the hotel reservations and I would have no problem when checking in. I had to settle for a room near the vending machine/ice machine and the noise was over the top. I also did not like being told that I could not use wireless in my room at no charge when indeed I could. I purchased the high speed internet connection at $10 a day which was unnecessary. I was told you could only use wireless in certain parts of he hotel at no cost, which was totally misleading.

I definitely recommend going to the West End/Vandy area for great breakfasts and also night life where you can sit outdoors and not deal with "smoking". Most of the downtown honky tonks on Broadway and 3rd Avenue allow smoking. I would have liked to have listened to some of the music but cannot deal with the smoke.

LOCATION WAS OK, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE PERSON BOOKING THREW ORBITS MUST HAVE A CREDIT CARD WITH THEIR NAME ON IT IN ORDER ... TO CHECK IN AT THIS HOTEL. AND THE HOTEL DOES NOT PROVIDE FREE PARKING UNLESS YOU FIND A PARKING SPOT ON THE STREET. BUT ONLY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY IS IT FREE TO PARK ON THE STREET. TO ME THIS HOTEL IS ALITTLE OVER RATED FOR THE PRICE.THE RESTROOM TO THE ROOM HAD A VERY BAD SMELL TO IT.
