I stay here just one night i have to tell you i sleep like a baby the beds are soo comfortable i just want to take the bed ... with me, the staff was very friendly

We stayed here because of a concert at Verizon Wireless (Irvine Meadows), and it appeared that this was the closest hotel to ... the venue. Originally it looked like we could walk from the hotel to the venue, but... not so. We ended up taking the free hotel shuttle to the Spectrum (2 minutes) and thought the half-mile or so to Verizon would be a breeze, but we had to walk the bridge over the 805 which was a longer round-about sort of way. It took us about 15-20 minutes. In retrospect I would have paid the $3 hotel shuttle to Verizon directly. You can call the hotel when the concert is over, and they'll pick you up again for $3 more. The room itself was clean and cozy, and the beds were pretty comfy. Would stay here again.

Many things wrong at this hotel

I called the hotel prior to check in becuase we would be checking in after midnight, at the time they said it would be no ... problem to check in late and request a late checkout. We arrived shortly after 12:15 am, the gentleman at the front dest (not wearing a name tag) was rude when I asked for the late checkout, i explained about my phone call earlier, he said they would charge me for half the next day if i wanted later checkout but I was told earlier that the would permit late checkout with no fee up to 2pm. He gave us the room keys, did not tell us what floor, or how to get to the room. Once in the room it was quiet until 8am, when the cleaning crew began vacuuming the halls and proceeding to hit our door with the vacuum. The shower was leaking everywhere and spraying all over, then we got a call from the front desk saying that there was a leak and the Maint crew needed in our room unless we were leaving. I told her that we were supposed to have a late checkout and she said it didnt say that on her screen, the guy last night didnt put us in for late checkout anyway, she corrected it. I will never stay at the Doubletree again, for the price I expected a decent greeting, and a decent departure, this was horrible. We also could not order breakfast when we woke up at 10am.

Great Area - Irvine Spectrum

This Hotel was very close to the Verizon Therater - We were able to use the Hotel shuttle to get to the concert at Verizon, ... and had a much better time because we did not have to drive. IT WAS GREAT!! The driver of the shuttle also droped us off after the concert at the Irinve Spectrum.I also loved the fact that we got a cookie at check in, and the hotel restanrant does a GREAT Chicken qasadilla.
