DO NOT STAY UNLESS YOU LIKE FILTH
Disgusted customer Sep 8, 2009
The first look at this hotel seemed to be ok. Looked clean and comfy, boy was I wrong. As I checked into my room I noticed a ... bunch of beer and pizza cases right outside the door, so it looked like there was a party in the room the night before. As we stepped into the room we could feel that some of the floor was moist (i wrongly assumed it was freshly cleaned and that was why it was wet). As I was getting into bed I noticed that one side was very cold and dampish. After pulling up all of the sheets we noticed a very large, very fresh urine spot all over the bed, blankets, everything! The night manager tried blaming us for not finding it sooner which only made this situation worse. I will never stay at a Doubletree hotel again and I may never stay at a Hilton again either (owned by hilton). NO ONE SHOULD STAY HERE. Obviously they do not change the bedding between guests which in itself is filthy, but to not notice a huge wet urine spot and to make the bed over it is grossly unexceptable. Horrible stay, most disgusting hotel room I have ever been in.

Not My Best Experience
Notsohappy Traveler Aug 29, 2009
I have always enjoyed Doubletree in the past, so since this was our first visit to Minneapolis to visit my son I chose a well ... known hotel. From the time we got in at 10:00p at night to find no parking and no one to help with luggage, our time there was terrible. I tried to fill out comments on the Doubltree website, and filled out everything, went to sent AND poof- the site is out of order! Just like the hotel service. I was sent out Sunday morning a block down to get a ---newspaper. All I saw was homeless people. I was scared, and I feel when you are at a hotel you should have all the things you need to feel like home.

I like the hotel. Have stayed there before. This time I was given a smoking room when I wanted a non-smoking room. PLUS ... there was a bachelorette party that was very noisy. No attempt was made to make sure I would be on a seperate floor.

Two friends and I used the hotel for one night after a Twins game, so we weren't looking for the lap of luxury. This is a ... great location in Downtown Minneapolis. The staff was friendly and courteous, the room was spacious and clean, and the in-room coffee was very good. I would use the Doubletree Guest Suites again if I was traveling with friends or family.

our trip was for pleasure we've been to Minneapolis so many times but not in downtown. I like the hotel and the price but we ... didn't get the non-smoking room we wanted but it was alright the staff offered us a free breakfast but our clothes smelled like smoke the next day they moved us to the non-smoking room that was nice. I wish the rooms are more updated than what it looks like in the outside. But overall it was a nice stay.

Just so-so
Special K Jul 6, 2009
Our reservation was for a queen sized bed. Upon check-in, the clerk confirmed that we had a queen sized bed, however the bed ... was only a full sized bed. Since the room had a hide-a-bed, I slept on that and my husband used the bed. Too bad the hotel didn't think that someone sleeping on the hide-a-bed would actually want bedding. We had to divvy up the bedding between the bed and the hide-a-bed. The room smelled of home perm solution. And the A/C didn't cool very well.

"The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
Overnight Wonder Jun 28, 2009
Went for a festival and decided on this hotel due to location. When I get there I am advised that I have to pay $16 for ... parking and $10 for internet. These were not mentioned at all when making reservation through Orbitz. I arrive at my room and am pleased with the room except Orbitz shows the suites with a kitchenette(stove, sink, ect), this had a microwave and a mini fridge. The first thing I notice is that the bed is right by the door and hallway, which as I tried to go to bed, realized how much noise you can hear from others walking and talking down the halls. I had to go to the other living space where the couch was and sleep on the hard hide-a-bed. I got no sleep at all! I then go to set up my computer and sit down on a semmingly nice office chair that is broke and lowers almost to the floor so I am trying to type with my computer at chest level. I was very happy to leave and will not be staying at this hotel again.

My room never got cleaned and being that I booked this reservation thru Orbitz there was not anything they could do to offset ... my bill and compensate me for the lack of service. This is an issue that needs to addressed between Orbitz and the hotels they work with. You are a hostage if anything goes wrong because the reservation was booked and paid for on line.
