Great deal for what you get!
Diana Jul 12, 2009
I wanted just a 24 hour getaway to be by myself and work on projects that have been piling up. I didn't want to have to drive ... anywhere to eat or shop, either. I wanted a quiet, clean, nice place with a great pool so I could relax, but get my work done. I also didn't want to have to pay a lot of money. So for $100 or so a night, I was able to get all of the amenities I need, plus HSIA which was great. Although I had to pay $10 for it, at least it was easy and fast. I had the comforts of a nice hotel for a great price. I could spread out in the large room with all of my projects. The only thing was that it was rather loud and rowdy at times. There was a DJ on the 2nd floor and a lot of people were coming in and out very late. I think it was a party. It wasn't too bad but I stayed in my room to and stayed away from it. Also, the lady at the front desk gave me a free glass of wine because she knew I was having a getaway by myself which I thought was very thoughtful and nice! Within walking distance to great food and shopping, too!

Very Nice Hotel
Reviewer May 2, 2009
Our stay at this hotel was delightful! My only complaint is about the thermastat in the room. Not matter what I set it on ... it was freezing in the room. Even on the off setting it still blew cold air. But a minor problem in the big picture.

Doubletree Suites a Sweet Place To Stay
Mom from Massachusetts Apr 22, 2009
The suite was spacious and well appointed. We were on the concierge floor, however, the concierge room was closed on ... weekends. The hotel staff was very friendly. They gave us a warm chocolate chip cookie upon arrival. Hard to beat that. The only drawback is that you pay for parking in an adjacent parking lot.

Since the suite includes a full kitchen, consider picking up breakfast foods at a local store since the breakfast buffet is rather expensive at the hotel. Good, but expensive.

We had a one year old and our suite provided for two televisions a refrigerator, and a microwave which made life simpler. ... Overall the hotel staff is very friendly and service was timely and good. There is just one restaurant in the hotel itself, but if you are willing to step out there are lots of good eats in the Galleria area, the Galleria itself, or further down Westheimer. Overall a convenient place to stay when visiting Houston.

Clean, Great Location
Kathy Apr 15, 2008
this hotel was very clean, and the suites are quite large. current hotel renovation is limited to the lobby, so if a ... beautiful lobby is imporant to you, go elsewhere. otherwise, its a great location and we had no problems with the room. if you have an infant, you will want this hotel b/c child can go to sleep in the living area while you stay up in the bedroom.
