This was a one night stay for my wife and I enroute to NYC to meet friends for a short vacation. We decided to stop in ... Charleston and stay in the historic district. I picked the Doubletree based on past experiences and the reviews [...]. We were not disappointed. The price is pretty high, but you are paying for a very nice hotel in a superb location. We are going to go back when we can stay longer.

Clean, but HOT HOT HOT!!!!
charleston lover Aug 10, 2009
I love the Double Tree Hotel for it's location. This is the first time I stayed at the hotel, but have been to Charleston ... many times and was told by others that it's where they stay everytime they are in Charelston, SC. I went with a co-worker to a class in town and we purchased this room b/c it was listed as a junior suite with 2 double beds. When we walked in the room was hot, of course. Charleston is hot is August!!! We arrived at 5pm and immediately turned the air on 50 degrees to cool it off while we were out on the town. We came back at 12am and the downstairs living area was freezing, so we were happy to think that our beds that were located in the loft were nice and cool too. NOT AT ALL!!!!! We called the front desk for a fan and they were nice to bring us one. But, it never cooled off. Our night was uncomfortable and the bathroom was upstairs too. So, you can imagine trying to shower and get ready in a stuffy room...I was not pleased, but I would stay again. I will just be sure that the next stay is one level and that the air conditioning works throughout the room.

Good hotel, great location
Bob Jul 13, 2009
This hotel was right in the middle of everything you want to see in the city. I really didn't have much interaction with the ... staff other than checking in...which means there were no problems which is good. I really don't even mind the extra expense of parking, I just didn't like how it is added to the bill at the end without telling us it was extra. I would have paid another $20 per night just for this location but they need to be more upfront with their guests.

Doubletree Charleston
raddoc Apr 24, 2009
Room could be advertised as a suite since it had a small area on one floor with two double beds on a small second floor, ... accessible by a narrow and steep staircase. I had asked for a king bed but was told that they were reserved for those that paid full price. Room was excessively noisy. Location almost made up for problems.

What a great location for visiting Charleston. All the places you would want to go to were a short walk away (with the ... exception of the bttery which still wasn't very far away). The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for just about everyone.

Great Location for those who don't have alot of time to see Charleston.
Lynn Jul 18, 2008
The Doubletree Guest Suites provided a well-needed respite for us during a recent visit...we did not have much time to spend ... in Charleston so this great location made it very convenient to do as much as possible while there. We had a quiet room with very comfortable accomodations and would definitely choose this hotel again.
