Would stay again!
Mom of 2 Oct 6, 2009
We loved how the hotel room was set-up. The living room had a nice big open floor that my 5 and 10 year old could play in. ... My parents were staying at the Ramada on the Beach and my dad said our living room was as big as his entire room. Having the big shower was nice. There was a band playing in the amphitheater next door, but inside our room, you could not even hear them. We will defiantly stay here again. It was also located in the middle of the strip which was really nice for walking everywhere.

Good location. What they do NOT tell you is that there is only 1 parking space per room. So if you are, say, meeting friends ... who live out of town....they have to park 8 blocks away at the public parking. The beds were comfy. The jacuzzi tub was nice, but it was a little weird taking a shower in such a big tub, not to mention slippery! No bath matt, railing, or anything. We found a fake fingernail on the carpet. (my friend stepped on it.) The railings on the balconies seemed unsafe to me..they were PVC piping, and very flexible. If I was to go there with children, they would not be allowed on the balcony for fear the railing would not hold if they leaned on it. There was a pile of trash by every corner outside the rooms. I guess someone was going to come pick them up from maid service and forgot? While waiting for the elevator we got to stand beside an especially raunchy trash bag. Check out is at 11. We checked out, just to find out that there was a parade on the street that gets us out of the hotel parking. We asked a policeman when the parade would be over, and he said the hotel was suppose to inform us because the parade went on until 2! We went back into the "lobby" and asked for our room back until the parade ended since we were suppose to be informed. She gave us our room back...went back upstairs to find out our room was being cleaned. The maid asked if we could be placed in another room instead, and we said we did not care as long as we got a room. What we didn't know was that she was putting us in a DIRTY room. It had not been cleaned yet. we ended up sitting on the balcony until the parade was over because the room smelled so bad and was...DIRTY. The front desk people were very nice. The room was ok. the location was nice. I probably would never go there for a romantic stay. But for a get together of friends, it was just fine. (Other than the fingernail and parade incident.)

This is a motel not a botique hotel
Weekend Travler Jun 23, 2009
Front desk people were very nice. Hotel is in a great location. Nice room size and nicely appointed. Tub/jacuzzi looked dirty ... and smelled of bleach. Hide-a-bed was wired shut while they waited for parts but did not tell us when we checked in. Toilet kept running every 10 minutes. Engineer fixed it by turning off the water (I really think this was just an error). Coffee filters from last guest were left in the coffeepot. This hotel is advertised as a botique but its sign states motel apartments. All in all- I'd rate the hotel (motel) a 3.

This hotel is right on the boardwalk. There is lots of dining - all price points. A few blocks up is a 7-Eleven where you can get bottled water and coffee much chepaer than on Atlantic.

I and my wife go to Virginia Beach every year two-three times (three hour drive}. We like to walk on the beach, just relax on ... the balcony, watch beach volleyball, surfers, numerous art performances sponsored by the city. Our favorite are 1. Sand sculpture International Festival in October 2. Art show in June 3. Neptune Festival We stayed in this hotel two or three times before but this time it was somewhat disappointing (see above)

A Great Hotel
william Jun 8, 2007
I had stayed at hotels along the ocean before, and always found that a great deal usually meant that it was not located close ... to any thing of interest. This was not the case. When we arrived to our room, we were amazied at how well designed the room was, and the staff had done a wonderful job of prepairing our room. My new bride marveled at the huge oversize jacuzzi tub and shower. The view was simply perfect. we could not have picked a better place to stay, and everything was within a short walking distance. There was plenty of parking,at the on site parking garage. Our stay was so pleasing, that we even stayed an extra day longer, although we had to pay full fare for a weekend night, we still consider it to have been a bargin!

If yo are planning to visit the aquarium, save your time and money, about half of the building is being renovated, and there was not very much to see.
