Great location but needs + attention
William Oct 27, 2009
We had a little problem with the reservation, we reserved one thing and received an inferior room once there. We booked the ... room with another couple so that we could be close and once there we were in different buildings and our room was older and with a lite mold odor since it was in the first floor and close to the pool. After 2 request and refusing to spend the night in that room and a couple of hours later, the manager finally changed our room to the new building and close to our friends....I recommend the hotel, but just advise that you make sure you get the room that you book in the new building of the resort. I would rate the hotel a 8 out of 10 for it's new rooms and great location....

Fantastic hotel to stay!
Crestian-Coffie family Oct 11, 2009
It was the best hotel we could have choose for our vacation in Aruba. Nice location, new villa's and area, very modern and ... beautiful, with connection to other high-rise hotels at Palm Beach. Good amenities: spa, fitness, kiddie and big pool, nice poolbar. Our room was the most beautiful room we ever had on our vacations; very nice, spacious, one bedroom with big jacuzzi in badroom, second badroom, full equipped new kitchen. It was really SUPER! The big formless pool is a beauty at night with changing watercolor. Great massages. White sandy beach where we rented sea equipments for our son of 8 and jetski for Us. We enjoyed being at the hotel most of our time, being so beautiful and having everything you'll need on vacation. In one word: fabulous!!!

The are of Palm Beach is the most popular place for it's dining possibilities and cafe's to be like South Beach lounge, Hard Rock Cafe etc. etc. Dining at any hotel in the area is great and don't miss 'barefoot dining' at these hotels in candlelight...

DIVI RESORT WITH THE BEST VIEW ...
BEACH BUM Oct 7, 2009
HAS THREE NEW TOWERS WITH FANTASTIC VIEW OF BOTH THE POOL AND OCEAN. STILL MUCH ONGOING CONSTRUCTION (NOISEY)AND THE ROOMS ... ARE POORLY CLEANED. WE STAYED AT BOTH THIS RESORT AND THE DIVI LINKS AND HAD TO CLEAN BOTH ROOMS OURSEMVES. SERVICE IS FRIENDLY AND THE BEACHFRONT SUNSET BISTRO WAS PRETTY GOOD AND YOU CAN DINE RIGHT AT THE WATERS EDGE. HAVE STAYED AT SEVERAL DIVI RESORTS AND ALWAYS HAD AN OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE. BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH DIVI IS THAT WHEN YOU REPORT ANY MAINTAINENCE TYPE PROBLEM YOU ARE NOT LIKELY TO GET IT RESOLVED QUICKLY. OFTEN NOBODY EVEN SHOWS UP TO RESOLVE IT. THE BEACHES ARE NOT CROWED IN THIS AREA AND EVEN THOUGH THE DIVI BEACH IS NOT THAT GREAT THERE ARE VERY NICE BEACH AND SWIMMING AREAS WITHIN A TWO MINUTE WALK NEAR THE WESTIN AND RIU PALACE. THIS IS PROBABLY THE CALMEST WATERS IN ARUBA, GREAT FOR LITTLE KIDS.

Very pleased with resort
BeachQuarterly Sep 23, 2009
There seem to be three distinct areas of the hotel: 1) tower (oldest); 2) villas; and 3) new construction. The tower is the ... oldest and a bit dingy and appears to be going through some construction. The new construction is spectaular (luxury full kitchen, luxury bathroom, and w/d in units). The pool areas are great. Loeved the swim up bar! The beach was nice but a bit windy.

Great hotel and service!
Durb Sep 19, 2009
Very friendly staff and good service. Hotel is under renovation, so alot of "detours" around hotel and one elevator was not ... working. We had an ocean view suite, very clean, comfortable beds, Two very nice restaurants - Sunset Grill and Pure Beach - great food, beautiful atmoshere. Swimming Pools are AWESOME! Two areas with lounge chairs right in the water and a swim up bar. Lively atmosphere around pool area. This hotel is on one end of Palm Beach which makes for long walks to eateries, shopping, piers...but still well worth the money. I have stayed at 3 other hotels in Aruba - all have been very nice. I would stay here again! This was our ninth trip to Aruba in the last 10 years. You can not go wrong staying anywhere on Palm Beach.

I was here for a wedding at a nearby hotel. The view from our room was breathtaking. Beautiful sunsets. Staff was friendly; ... food was good; water was calm but more windy than other resorts with sand whipping at you on the beach. The elevators were very small and only one was working at the time for 14 floors. Many times we were waiting for it to be empty enough to get on. The maintenance crew used the same elevator as the guests. Once it broke down for half a day, the wedding day, of course, so we panicked because and we had to walk up 8 flights. It was working by the time we went to the wedding,so everything worked out okay.

Plenty of places to eat within walking distance or even at the hotel. Easy to get a taxi anywhere on the island. Bus supposed to come by every 20 minutes but stops aren't marked very clearly.

Everything was terrific except last day. Housekeeping staff barged in one hour before check-out time and asked "Are you ... checking out today?". That is without knocking my door before just entering and being so rude!! I reported this to the front desk.

Great Price, Great Place!

Easy check in. Take a taxi strait from the airport. Unload your bags and hit the beach if you want. If your there for the ... casino, there isn't one on site but just a short walk, or taxi ride, depending on where you want to go. Food at the Sunset Bistro on site is very good with many restaurants within walking distance. Be sure to go to the grocery store during the day and stock up on whatever foodstuffs you may wish to have in your room. Aruba has the cleanest water strait from the tap, water pitchers are supplied in your refrigerator. Remember Aruba is a small Island and prices for food reflect that. WATCH YOUR VALUABLES. Use the safe provided in your hotel room to store passports excetera. Do make a trip to Baby Beach, Go on a sailing cruise,(We recommend Mi Dushi) Try snorkeling, Be careful of the coral in the water-however the beaches are wonderful. We had a great time on The Kukoo Kanooku Bus tour- Adults only(dinner and visits to 3 local bars) Take a Jeep Tour, The Natural Pool is difficult to get to but well worth it if you are active, children in their teens will really have fun, to strong of currents and waves for younger children in my opinion.

Mi Dushi Sailing Cruise. Lunch, Open Bar, Snorkeling at 3 Stops. Or a longer walk, or taxi ride the Pirate Cruise, Same as above but lunch is served on styrofoam, with plastic utensils.

What a view!!
Deepeeazza Apr 22, 2009
The Phoenix is in the final stages of a new addition. The new pool area and outdoor bar area are beautiful. The hotel is ... still one of the less crowded on Palm Beach. It is very relaxing and quiet- perfect for reading and sun bathing. The new units block some of the gorgeous view to the lighthouse, but it is still quite beautiful. Especially at night with all the lights.
Traveler type: Couples
Iguana Joe's in town is a great setting overlooking the heart of town, the shopping district and the harbor area. The night we were there having a light dinner, we caught 2 cruise ships leaving port. What a sight!
