Wonderful Getaway!!
PJ Nov 16, 2009
We had been here five years ago on our honeymoon and went back because we loved it so much. We were not disappointed - it ... was still just as beautiful and peaceful. The food was even better then the first time and everyone that works there is so friendly. All-inclusive really is the way to go! Aruba is still our favorite island we've been to and we will definitely be going back!

The things I noticed - midwest normal. I was uncomfortable with young girl ( maybe 5-7 yrs) without tops on. - things like ... that...They were swedish and I sure it was normal. But... WOW and then the New York people - Be prepared for a wide range of sites, sounds and tastes. Well if we didn't we would be dead. BEST thing was the vast amount ot beach - With Divi/ Tamer you could enjoy the beach without being on top of someone - unlike the other beaches.

Mega Inclusive!
Sun Lover Nov 2, 2009
Excellent place to get away from it all. If your're doing the all inclusive, make sure to stay at the Divi Village. It ... includes 2 extra restaurants. Mulligan's is the best by far in the all inclusive range. The staff there was fantastic! Plenty of pools to choose from. Lots of opportunities to explore off property. The drinks are fantastic. One suggestion, make sure you go to a couple off propety restaurants. And, if doing the mega all inclusive, mulligan's is your best bet for restaurants.

Divi "Village"
John & Meri Oct 26, 2009
We booked the trip at the Divi All Inclusive, BUT they gave us a room at the Divi "Villages", which is part of the Divi all ... inclusive, but the Village rooms are across the street from the beach. Also, the room was pretty beat up and needed updating. I had to pay $50 more per night to move to a room located on the beach at Divi All Inclusive, that was ok. Dont stay at Village rooms if you want to be on the beach, stay at Divi or Tamajrin (Divi beach and pool are nicer).

Honeymoon
Traveler Oct 3, 2009
Our trip didn't start off that great with the Divi. The woman at the front desk was rude, not very helpful, and when we found ... out that we had double beds (it was our honeymoon after all!) couldn't switch them because they were "booked" - highly doubtful because the bars, pool, and beach were practically empty. Despite our double bed issue, our stay at the Divi was okay. The location was great - really quiet, not far from town. Restaurants and bars at the hotel were good. The staff wasn't always the friendlist. We found staff outside the resort (on tours, restaurants, taxis, etc) to be much nicer. Beach was nice and clean. My husband and I felt like we were a little young for the hotel, as it seemed to be more older couples, but we did enjoy the quietness and relaxation.

Great Honeymoon Location!
Newlyweds : ) Sep 27, 2009
Rooms seemed a little out of date and the bikes were wicked old, however that is not what we went there for... The food was ... amazing! 4 sit down restraunts then daily buffet... all really good! and the beach was beautiful and not crowded at all (closet couple 50 to 100 ft from us). Then the drinks flowed all day! And remember this was all inclusive. Also checked out other hotels while we were down there - more crowded and not as nice beaches - would definately stay at the Divi again!

The staff are very accomondating. Very polite and helpful in everyway. some remembered us from past visits. You can feel ... safe at the Divi and not worry about theft, etc. It's a family atmosphere. There could be a little more activities around the pool during the day besides bingo. Maybe Trivia? Dance lessons.

nice resort, needs work
sksbs Sep 22, 2009
The weather was great, windy which created waves, so somedays you couldn't just float in the water and relax. The resort was ... nice and clean, but our room had moldy stained tile grout on the floors, tiles were loose, bathroom was very outdated and dirty, but had a new vanity. We showered with our flip flops everyday. Some of the staff was frienly, not overly frienly like other resorts we've been to. There seem to be a lot more rules than we expected with signing in floats and what you couldn't do with it. The tree huts on the beach were never available because people would leave their towels on the chairs overnight to claim them their whole stay, so we never were able to lay under them, no matter how early you got to the beach. Everything was located at the Tamarijn, which isn't disclosed on the website, i.e. ATM, fitness center, internet lounge (you had to pay for), water sports center, rock wall. The website says located "between", but it's at the Tamarijn. While there we went on the Discover Aruba tour which was fun and went to the flea market and Casino. The front desk was not very knowledgable about area acitivies such as the "shopping bazaar" at the casino or the flea market, we got different answers from different staff we asked. The food was good, not bad, but not great. The resort also had bad smells at certain spots, near the ice cream, behind the "Red Parrot", and in the shopping hallway of the Tamarijn. Compared to Jamaica where we stayed before, the Divi was a big dissappointment. The resort layout was the same, but staff in Jamaica was super friendly, EVERYTHING was included...internet, off resort excursions, clean rooms, calm waters, no rules, you asked;they provided, great food, many selections of fresh tropical fruit.

We did not leave the resort while we were in Aruba. The resort was actually very boring. All of the water sports that came ... with the all inclusive package were over at the Tamarian. The staff was dirty and very rude. The food was DISGUSTING! I would never stay at the Divi Divi all inclusive again, however, I would go back to Aruba in a heart beat.

Great Location
Ed Aug 1, 2009
Super: location...."beachside" rooms were extremely close to the beach/bar...you get a decent "side view" of the beach from ... your room. beach was wide, white sands....beautiful!!!! awesome place if you want to get away, have quick access to the beach, relax under a "beach hut" with great views and nice (often very strong) "breeze," avoid the crowds, and enjoy a truly gorgeous beach. Nearby Activities: parasailing (~$55/person)....awesome view; waverunners (~$60/person)....very fast, but was very windy/rough when we went; golf, across the street, beautiful course but very challenging when so windy. Food: generally pretty good and comparable to above average cruise food. Not so super: in one of our two rooms, the bed was like sleeping on the floor....very, very hard/cheap mattress....we kept telling ourselves the beautiful beach was worth it. while clean, the rooms are definitely pretty old with lots of wear and tear...especially the bathroom.

We loved the location. We had a window that leaked from the sprinklers but we loved the room. It would have been nice for ... the staff to do more than come and look at it. They never even tried to fix the problem. Some staff were nice, others acted like they could do without our business. We were good tippers too so we should have received great service all the time.

Nice First time in Aruba
Lizzy Jun 11, 2009
Check-in was late because our room was ready due to the AC not working, so we got switched to another room that didn't ... compare to what we paid for. I insisted the AC get fixed asap and we got moved to our original room on day 2. We waited for 45 mins for the maintenance guy to open up the tennis courts for us. Apparently, he was the ONLY person who can unlock the doors. This was after asking the front desk 4 times to get someone over there. Overall, we had a great time but the staff at the front desk & concierge weren't overly helpful or quick. The bar and restaurant staff was awesome however. It seemed we were always telling them what to do instead of them suggesting what they'd do to accomodate us, the guests. We've been to Dreams Cancun and we liked the service better then. But the beach, water, and weather in Aruba is much more awesome. There is always a breeze!

Wonderful Escape
Steve & Stina May 24, 2009
The location is spectacular, unbeatable. From the moment you walk into the lobby you feel the openenss and Island Time and ... relaxation begin to take hold. We arrived before actual check in time so our room wasn't yet ready, but we were checked in and were able to eat and sit at the bar for cocktails. Being right on the beach was fantastic. Our room was very clean and neat, it could have used some upgrading but we didn't care, we're on vacation and everything worked and was again clean and neat. The food was very good at the buffet with many varieties for every taste. The Red Parrot was a wonderful finer dining experience. What makes this place great is that you can go to the Divi Tamarijn right up the beach to eat and drink as well giving you plenty of variety. We never even went into town we were so satisfied with the food and entertainment at the resort. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. There is something about just walking up to the bar and having the bartender hand you the drink before asking. With the exception of the rooms needing a little work, this place is the best. We plan on coming back for our wedding next year to see everyone again, they took such excellent care of us.

A 3-Star rating is appropriate for the age and general look of the hotel but the location right on the beach was the BEST!!!. ... Staff were very helpful and courteous, food was excellent, and everything was kept extremely clean. We would suggest more variety in nightly shows as girating young people in flashy costumes were entertaining but got monotonous after 6-7 nights.

We ate all of our meals in the hotel and the hotel next door, which was included. We saved a lot by staying in our hotel's resturants/buffets and were able to use that money on activities and other things! Besides, drinks and meals can add up to be a lot so we actually saved money by choosing an all inclusive resort and we were very happy with our choice!
