Disney's Yacht Club Resort

The expeirence was good. We received a free room upgrade to a room with a water view because we were celebrating a ... birthday. We were even able to check-in at 9:30 am opposed to the normal 3:00 pm check-in time because the room happened to be ready early. All of our requests were met (floor level & bed size). The room was spacious and the pool was very large and relaxing. Great lazy river! We spent the day at Epcot and it was extremely easy to get to via a short walk along Disney's boardwalk. The only compaint I have is that the room was nothing special. You're really paying for the location, the Disney name, and the ammenities rather than a "luxury" room.
Traveler type: Couples
Make use of the boardwalk and buses to get to all of the theme parks. It doesn't take much time, saves tons of money on parking, and allows you to come and go as you please.

This was by far our absolute favorite. From the many great resturants to the fabulous pool(s) and the close walking distance ... to Epoct. Our room was impecable (standard room)with a great view of Epcot's evening fireworks. This hotel/resort although upscale is very family friendly and not stuffy feeling.

Disney with My Daughter
Robert Oct 12, 2008
The Yacht Club was wonderful and a great home base with my 11 yr old daughter. The pool is really a mini-water park which we ... made our way back to each afternoon for a break. The lobby area was very nice and more serene than the Beach Club (the Yacht Club's sister hotel with which it shares the pool/water park). The Marketplace in the Beach Club hotel has a deli and basic groceries which we utilized for quick breakfast each morning. Be sure to buy the plastic Disney cups for $12 each which can be refilled for free with tea, coffee or soda throughout your stay. Staff was helpful and the grounds were pristine. Ideal location for Epcot (5 minute walk) and very central to Disney Studios too. Near lots of activity on the Broadwalk just across the small lake. Great work-out facility with weights and cardio equipment. This place is not cheap but offers time savings, an in-house mini-water park, and awesome location -- especially to Epcot. This makes the Yacht Club a good value.

Epcot Center is about 300 or so yards from the Hotel. You can either make the walk or hop on board the ferryboat that will take you there from the lighthouse every 15 minutes or so. You can see their fireworks at night from the beach lounge chairs every night at around 9PM.

Can't go wrong
Gary Aug 25, 2008
The Disney Yacht Club Resort is a place I've stayed at a number of times over the last 15 years. It's a beautiful hotel with ... an amazingly friendly, courteous and helpful staff that will assist with anything from finding you a crib for your baby to road directions to Gator Land Zoo to tickets and reservations to parks and events on the Disney property. The rooms are all top notch, and the concierage level boasts a hospitality room with breakfast, snacks, happy hour and big screen tv (where we watched a good part of the Olympics). Bus, ferry and shuttle service will take you to the various Disney parks or the airport every 15 minutes or so. The massive sand-bottomed pool is great fun (especially the pirate ship water slide). Great place to go and relax or use as a launch pad or home base for your other Florida touring. A+
