Wonderful!

The Honeymooners! Oct 13, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

My husband and I went to celebrate our honeymoon. We were extremely pleased with the hotel and the staff. The resort and the ... grounds are absolutely beautiful! I only wished that a bigger deal had been made about the fact that we were "Honeymooning"...upon check-in we received pins to wear with a picture of Cinderella and Prince Charming that read "Just Married", cute, but we ran into other Newlyweds throughout the parks that had Minnie eared veils and Mickey eared top hats and they said that their hotels had surprised them in their rooms upon arrival. Some even got chocolate covered strawberries and wine, as well!

Mid Quality Room but plenty of extras

shoobacat Sep 18, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

This is a large hotel, so if you book more than one room call the hotel and request that your rooms be in the same building. ... There is no valet parking, so plan on walking about 1/4 mile to registration from the parking lot. The rooms are comfortable and the doors in the back of the room close for privacy when changing or waking early. Wifi is available in the lobby and internet service is an extra charge. The pools are fantastic, and you can easily skip the park and spend the day at the hotel. The hotel has several places to eat, from pool side snack bar to an upscale Mayan Restaurant (about $50 per person without liquor). Dress is resort casual. I recommend eating off property at "Disney Pleasure Island" or "Disney Downtown" both have shops restaurants. The hotel offer bus transport to every Disney attraction, and as a bonus for staying at a Disney property - each day one park opens early or stays open an extra 3 hours for people with Disney Resort Room Keys. You can have your Disney tickets attached to your room key electronically by the concierge, that way all you need to take to the park is your ID and room key. The room key acts as a credit card as well at all Disney properties. While this isn't a five star hotel, the perks you get make the cost worthwhile. The additional park hours, easy bus service to all attractions, and a multi use room key, and the theme park style pool (think Disney does Spa Atlantis) all make this a great place to stay. I'm disabled but don't use a wheelchair so getting to and from check in was difficult, and the trek to and from the room was a small hike. So if you have health issues that limit your walking, rent a wheel chair during check in.

Recreation/Attractions hint

Try Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island on the night you check in, if you're not at the parks. There is food and entertainment. You can easily spend a day walking around these free attractions. The pool at the hotel is a Disney version of Spa Atlantis, so the kids will have a great time at the pool, and you can lounge or visit the pool side bar.

The facility was a marvelously well maintained and comfortable location for our conference; the amenities and concierge ... services were outstanding, the food was excellent and prompt, and everyone on the staff with whom I came in contact was well trained, well mannered. cheerful and a pleasant experience - one of my best in recent years. Well done!! Very reasonable price range for this level of services. Lots of walking in lush scenic settings.

We had a very good experience at this hotel. This is an economical hotel and is a good value for the money. The rooms were ... kept clean and it was a good location as far as getting to and from the Disney parks. We spent all of our daytime hours at Walt Disney World and the transportation to and from the Disney parks was handled effortlessly. We would definitely consider staying here again.

The coronado was good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in Casitas 2 and room decor was beautiful! Clean towels ... everyday. Despite the mixed reviews and complaints we had a really good time at the coronado. We also visited other resorts during our stay and we were definitely pleased we picked the coronado. We decided to eat at the parks so really cant comment about the food.

Beautiful grounds, perfect getaway!

Drgnfly30 Jun 5, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Hubby & I arrived (sans kids!!!) at CSR around 10:30 am on Sunday. I'd faxed a request for a renovated Casitas room, ... preferably Building 5. The Castmember checking us in told us that we had been assigned a Cabanas room in 9B but it wasn't going to be ready until after 3pm. However, within 10 minutes we were on our way to Casitas 5, a renovated King room which had a parking lot view but was perfectly located on the corner down the hall from the elevator, directly next to building 4. No complaints there. Room was nice, clean, furnishings/bedding new.. who could ask for more! We seemed to be about 1/2 way between El Centro & Dig Site. But we ended up on driving to El Centro to fill up our mugs in the morning for the drive to the parks. And driving over to the 7B parking lot (which was empty because of the renovation there) for a shorter walk to the Dig Site. We rented a car so we didn't use the transportation but we always saw buses coming & going. We also never saw more than a handful of people at the stops. We didn't eat here other than one night when hubby got a $10 Panini from Cafe Rix, he said was not very good. The resident Alligator "Glen" was by El Centro every morning. We also discovered that if you leave CSR by the side gates (by the Convention center) and take a left onto Western(?)... there is a body of water to the right of the road... we saw another Gator there every morning, twice getting out of the water, once sunning himself. He seemed a bit bigger than Glen. First time in 12 trips to WDW that we'd ever seen Gators out & about! Hubby is a smoker so we have some insight to the DSA situation. The smoking restrictions was in NO WAY mentioned at checkin. It may have been in the stuff I signed but definately was not pointed out. DSA's seemed to be all around, never a far walk & very pleasant scenery (unlike at work when they put you out by the dumpsters). We didn't see too much abuse of the smoking restrictions, a few really early morning balcony smokers. Although we like to try different resorts, we would definately try this one again. Especially for trips without the kids! It wasn't All Disney All the Time like other resorts, which was fine by me - been there done that!

Beautiful setting

CFerrari Jun 2, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The landscaping and outdoor scenery including fountains, flowers and the lake are really beautiful. The complex is huge, and ... it can be quite a walk to get from your room to the lobby - so keep that in mind if you are adverse to walking long distances. The rooms themselves are ok. They offer everything you need, but with no bells or whistles. They are a decent size, with a small dining table, but no WOW-factor here. Internet will cost you $10 a day. The food options at the hotel are OK, Rix Cafe is nice for a drink.

Rooms clean, great pool Front desk awful

Been there Apr 24, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

The check-in was ridiculously slow. We were first in line and it took FOREVER!! The line started forming. They were very very ... slow, talking to each other instead of doing their job. They were unfriendly. The valet was on some inside joke and so extremely rude, we didn't use them-meaning the guys inside near the front desk. The guys outside where you check your bags were very nice. The pool was great, though it would have been great if the snack bar stayed open a bit later. Or the bar. Great for kids, though. And the rooms were very clean. We liked the location. People complain about the long walk to their rooms, but I found everything close. I walked the entire property and even if you're on the other side, the walk is great and I didn't think a big deal at all!

I know people need to see The Magic Kingdom, but it's mostly screaming kids who are just miserable because they're hot, in long lines and sometimes afraid of the characters. Make sure your kid has lots of liquid, snacks and some kind of fan, sun block, etc. I personally like to bring the kids to Epcot. But I think one day in Magic Kingdom is more than enough time.

Comfortable Old Florida feel

Mom B Apr 22, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

We enjoyed the resort, but never really got to spend time at the resort. We never used the pool and only once ate at the food ... court. We had a limited time at Disney and all the time was to be spent at the parks. This location is accessed by bus, which was always prompt, but it still seemed like we were too far from the parks. We have stayed at the Contemporary and the Wildness cabins. We were spoiled by the monorail on the Contemporary. This resort is really large, I think I prefer a more compact building and closer amenities. Would have been good if we were there a week or more, not for the 2.5 days we were there.

Excellent Accomodations

David Feb 10, 2008

Would recommend to a friend!

The Disney Coronado Springs Resort was an excellent resort - rooms were ample size with well-appointed decor. Restaurants ... offered many options. Hotel allowed early check-in so we could leave to enjoy the Disney Parks. We would certainly stay here again.

Good moderate hotel

Douglas Sep 28, 2007

Would recommend to a friend!

The Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World is a good, moderate level resort option. It's in a great location, close to ... Animal Kingdom and just a short drive anywhere on Disney property. While the room was starting to show a little wear and tear and the furniture could use a little freshening up of paint and repair, it was nothing that took away from the quality of the stay, the good service, and the good food at the Pepper Market food court.

Recreation/Attractions hint, Short Drive

If you're staying for a long time, request a room close to the main building. This resort is REALLY spread out, and if you don't have your own car, it would be quite a hike from some of the buildings that are further out to the main building, which has the food court and other amenities.

Money savers hint, In Hotel

Buy the cup where they give you free refills through out the day. Drinks are expensive!

If you go to Hollywood Studio's Spectra Magic is a must-see, its a great night time light show and spectacle

Recreation/Attractions hint, Short Drive

I know people need to see The Magic Kingdom, but it's mostly screaming kids who are just miserable because they're hot, in long lines and sometimes afraid of the characters. Make sure your kid has lots of liquid, snacks and some kind of fan, sun block, etc. I personally like to bring the kids to Epcot. But I think one day in Magic Kingdom is more than enough time.

The pool was quite far from our room. This resort is really spread out. Be prepared to get your exercise in!

House of blues for great entertainment. Virgin Megastore for all your music needs. Tons of resturants. Disneys waterparks and themeparks

Sorry, we cannot perform that search at this time. Either the pick-up or drop-off location needs to be an airport.
