We knew we were getting a cheaper hotel, but you should get one with a working a/c. The first room we got, the a/c was out. ... They put us in another one in which everything appeared to be 'wet', blankets, pillows, floors. The desk clerk said it was probably the humidity. Finally got into an okay room. The floors in the bathroom were very dirty and although the room was 'cleaned' everyday, they were never cleaned. And it did come up, I tried it myself to make sure. But the breakfast was a good cont. one. The staff was friendly. A little farther from downtown than I would have liked, but knowing the area, it was okay.

Quick weekend trip
Brit Sep 27, 2009
This was a spur-of-the-moment weekend trip for us. We wanted to be close to both River Street in Savannah and Tybee Island. ... The hotel was conveniently located within 20-30 minutes of both. Located right next to the Savannah Mall and lots of dining options. The rooms were clean and average for the price. Room service was really great -- they changed the sheets, cleaned the bath tub, and restocked EVERYTHING daily.

Enjoying every moment
Apple Aug 9, 2009
It was nice and clean, and it smelt so fresh. The bedding was clean and felt nice on my skin. The bathroom was spotless. The ... only flaw was that the batteries in mt remote were dead. The hotel is located near the hospital, which is a plus because i am on dialysis. Also there were so many places right next door to eat from. The gentleman that booked me in was also very helpful and nice.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly"
paula Jul 31, 2009
The first room that we were given was dirty, air conditioner did not work - the bathroom light did not work. The second room ... we could not get to because a pack of young men blocked the staircase - then verbally propositioned us and we could not get through. Then I realized that they lived there on a weekly basis - obviously felt some ownership. I then asked for a room right across from the office. This room was clean, the air and lights worked. Must say the clerk was very nice, just overwhelmed.

Overall good hotel
NC Mom May 26, 2009
Overall the hotel was fine, the rooms were clean and I don't have any complaints about the staff. It's located close to ... shopping, pretty much a straight shot down to River Street and it's near a mall. The pool is alot smaller than it looks in the picture. My only real complaints are with the breakfast room-wasn't large enough for the number of guests there and one of our rooms (we had 2) had a musty smell to it. Probably could be handled with a bottle of Febreze and an open window...but the smell lingered in my clothes and I could notice it when I got home.

My review of Days Inn Savannah - Abercorn Southside
Gene Mar 19, 2008
The hotel was fine. It had been renovated, but old properties are difficult to bring to a level to match new poperties. There ... was a strong anticeptic smell in the room from the cleaning process. Bed and furniture was good and the bath area had been updated. The location is excellent for any activity around Armstrong University.

A Comfortable place away from home
Markus Aug 12, 2007
I was in Savannah dropping my daughter off to college and needed a place close to the college and that was within my budget. ... Days Inn was just minutes from the college and I could walk to three fast food chains. Whenever I visit my daughter this will be my home away from home. Oh yeah, the barbecue grill area was interesting and the garden behind the hotel was a suprise.

Never Check In
RUBY Jul 29, 2007
The Days Inn was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.The room was dirty ,walls, floors bathroom, hair ,and dust. The toilet ... was very dirty.People standing outside of rooms smoking when we requested a non-smoking room.To step outside the door people smoking everywhere. No hotel guest should have to go threw that.I will never stay at that hotel again. It was so bad I cried.I am a very unhappy customer.

Not the best but affordable
Rachel Jun 19, 2007
This place is inexpensive and you get what you pay for I guess. There was mold growing under the glass on the pictures ... hanging on the wall, the carpet by the air conditioner was always damp during our three night stay. Also, the maid service could not give us clean towels when they cleaned the room. They had to wait 'til the cleaned all of the dirty towels and then bring back clean ones later in the day. The housekeeping repeatedly came to clean the room at 9:30 in the morning even though check-out wasn't until 11am.
