I arrived very late in the evening from a long travel day. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but not the pillows. ... Irritating intermittant banging noise from something in the ceiling-I was too tired to call the front desk and complain. Also the sink was clogged and would not drain. This hotel is close to the University and also the freeway- lots of freeway noise. Very kind staff and a nice little continental breakfast in the AM.

Just over five miles away on the corner of El Camino Real and and S. Mathilda is a P.F. Changs, Starbucks, and Borders book store. Inside the same shopping center is an Italian restaurant called Pasta Pomodoro. It's a small place that that is bustling with voices and plates moving inside and relatively calm and romantic outside patio. The bar and hosting staff both welcomed us and we were sat in just over five minutes though the place was packed. What appeared to be the manager was also very active in welcoming and seating customers, while our waitress was quite attentive, knowledgeable, and polite. We sat inside and were talking at length the whole time quite comfortably with the many sounds inside. The menu prices seemed to stay under $15 which was great for our budget. The food was incredible. have you ever been to Carabas or other fancy Italian places where you get bland bread and herbs in olive oil for dipping your bread, but it never really tastes like much more than just oil then, on occasion, you'll get a blast of spices because you got a nugget of the super seasoned herb stuff they took out a pre-made box in the back of the restaurant. Not so here. The dipping sauce is a freshly prepared spinach based olive oil dipping sauce that is incredible. The balsamic vinegar and gorgonzola cheese salad i had was great, would have been out of this world if it had some almonds or maybe sunflower seeds tossed on. The pasta plates we had were both very good and we got out of there for under $35 with tip. Four stars overall considering the price.

Outstanding Customer Service
Gio Aug 11, 2009
Our flight arrived at 1pm. We took the main roads that circled around the airport, took the intertwining on-ramp past ... McDonalds to De la Cruz Blvd. then exited immediately and there it was on our right hand side with the unmistakable palm trees as seen on the on-line photos... Very Easy To Find. From the minute we arrived, [...], at the front desk was extremely cheerful, helpful, and professional. Her impeccable customer service was quite impressive. She explained to us that it is their policy to allow early check-in if the room was ready. [...] called housekeeping and had the room's final touches finished in less than five minutes.Down El Camino Real Rd. we found Korean, Japanese, and Italian cuisine as well as fast food and restaurant chains. The Hotel has been refurbished and my girlfriends first comment was "Wow, this place is nice. I've stayed at a Days Inn before and it didn't look like this." The exterior walkways were re-tiled with slate. They look great, but I would have preferred a softer material, like carpet, as the sound from people's foot steps on the balcony would carry into our room. The first thing I noticed upon opening the room door was that it did not stink. The only thing I smelled were the washed linens. The room was spacious, bed quite comfortable, cable TV more than adequate. The only fault was the lavatory sink. The pop-up had detached (a simple fix) and the sink bowl would drain slowly. -A work order was put in-The following morning we called ten minutes after breakfast finished and were told by [...] at the front desk that she would keep the food out a little extra for us, and upon arrival even went and got more fruit and juice for us... truly exceptional customer service.I called [...] about 10 minutes after the scheduled check-out time and let her know we we would need an extra 15-20 minutes to which she replied, "take your time." I don't know about you, but I can't stand when the front desk calls the room to check if you are out or provide a "courtesy reminder" of what time check-out is. It is a small hotel with an excellent price for the quality, convenient to almost anything, and unforgetable customer service. Thank you [...]

Excellent Value - noisy on Sat evening
Jay Aug 3, 2009
The location has easy access to the freeway. The room was like it says in their description: spacious and stylish. It was ... also very clean and the bathroom was really nice. The staff was not the friendliest, but they were efficient. My only complaint was that after midnight on Sat., it was a little noisy.

Traveling Jim Jul 31, 2009
We were traveling to the "Bay area" for a yearly convention and decided to travel a day early. So we were able to book a room ... for the night and we are glad we did. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. We have stayed at larger hotels and in comparison we would not hesitate to come back here.

the rooms were excellently appointed with good designer type furniture and flat scren visio tvs, jetted bath tub in our room ... which worked fine. internet etc. the main gripe i have is that no pharmacy no restaurants nearby had to travel 4 miles just to grab a bite changing three freeways. the front desk lady (elderly) didnt evenm react when i told her that ive read good reviews about her hotel during check in (may be she couldnt understand me ) at check out their children were more friendly. other than this the room itself was very nice

The hotel it's self was over all fine, but I was not happy at all with Orbitz. My husband stays at this hotel twice a week ... and when I took the last survey I couldn't use the 1o% off coupon. So needless to say next week when he has to stay I won't be using Orbitz.

This hotel was not bad, but not great either. If you are not planning to spend a great deal of time in your room then it's ... great for the price. The bath area was much bigger than most hotels and very clean, but I was somewhat disappointed with the rest of the room upkeep. There was a mini fridge and microwave, but they were both kept underneath the vanity/sink area. There were limited electrical outlets for the technology loving traveler.

My review of Days Inn Santa Clara/San Jose/El Camino Real
richard Aug 10, 2007
This hotel was being repainted so there was very little parking spaces available and our car was apparently backed into while ... we were therem but did not notice it untill we returned home. Cable was only very basic and did not offer Fox News. The radio did not get good reception at all. Other than the above stated problems the place was only barely passable at the very best.

Good Hotel for the money...
Victoria Aug 6, 2007
This was our first time staying at this hotel, and for the price it was a very good choice. The location was perfect for us, ... all the attractions was only a very short car ride away. The room was very clean and lots of space, had a nice big vanity for all toiletries and good water pressure in shower which is important. overall a good experience, very modest amenities, no frills but a comfortable stay.
